Only just found this photo today, never seen it before, this is Cleggy and. Bobby running out for the second half at Boothferry Park Feb? 85
Is that blood on Bobbys face and shirt?
Cleggy also looks like he’d been in the wars first half, probably with big Billy Whitehurst. one of my most memorable away days as a young upload_2023-7-23_20-39-23.png lad watching City

Wasn't Clegg in goal because Whitehurst had crocked our keeper, didn't help them tho' we won 2-0.

Yep Whitehurst fouled Eric McManus in our goal after only four mins and Eric had to go off. Tony Clegg went in goal but the City defence protected him really well and don’t think Hull tested him that much.
This was in the days of only one sub on the bench so that was us done
This was a crucial fixture and the win I think put us about 14 points clear at the top and I remember thinking that finally City were about to get back into the big time again(we’d not been in the top two divisions for 48 year’s!)
Us away fans were superb that day, we never shut up for the whole 90 mins and the locals weren’t happy, saw lots of trouble that day before during and after the game including seeing a City fan slashed with a Stanley knife as we were getting on our Patsy coach after the match

Hull always gave us a warm welcome, as did Middlesbro, Stockport, Hartlepool, and many more.
