And another, what a morning. I'm so glad I'm stuck at work bored reading these threads, instead of having the day off and going outside enjoying the sun. What a day.

 

For me the single biggest mistake the owners have made, and they have been scrambling around to put it right ever since. He was the only one who had a chance of putting the team right. Their decision to sack him disrupted everything at the club including the fans and cost us any hope of a playoff place. Edin and Stefan you didn’t listen to him then but listen to him now, go and talk to him, get advice before your next move.

 

I’m not one for happy clapping but lets see who they appoint as manager and what resources he is given. See what the summer brings in terms of new players and player retention. You never kniw they may surprise us, optimistic i know.

 

All of that is irrelevant to what I said, go outside and enjoy the sun, O and stop making multiple threads on the same thing.

After watching that McCall video, I can’t help but think what a difference a year makes.

2 out of the 3 reach a limit then never get past it, the other has achieved decent league positions but never won anything and no success in England.

Howe, Warnock, Bruce.
Managers who have proved they can get out of league 1 then again and into the premier league.

I think there is an over reaction to saying we've lost the best managers available.
There is better out there. Its just whether we can get them and if they are a good fit for us.

I don't usually give the racist ex kit man any time but Parkinson was all set for Sheff Utd 12 months previous. He wanted out anyway and this was a perfect excuse. McCall had to go, results weren't good enough but I sympathise there was issues with Rahic, Grayson has said he had no problems with the owners, just a difference of opinion on the infrastructure/budgets.

 

Im not saying we could get them. What im saying is there are mangers out there who seem to fit into a club, click with them, and take them higher than they ever imagined.
IMO Grayson was never going to be that man. Who would ever have thought Howe would do what he did at Bournemouth?
We might get someone like him, you never know. Would you have thought Grayson would have got us past 18th in the championship?

 

The only resources any new manager will be given are those that are already there. Those that leave will be replaced like for like, or worse.

 

Well I am not looking at CV’s or interviewing, so it is hard to tell really. I would want some who has a good solid footballing career behind him, has good man management skills, has the capacity to manage the owners, can relate to the fans and bring us all together. Knows a good young footballer and who has the nous when to play him, is not tied to any particular system, but can adapt. Good personality, is able to handle the media. Is good at knowing which footballers will fit into his team, and is sensible about what we can afford. So step forward somebody who can interview and submit a cv that fits the criteria above.
