He can't but he's not the real problem here. He goes what happens with the two above him in the heirarchy? They're just as responsible for this shit show. We get slated elsewhere on social media for daring to question our ambition but thats what it boils down to. No one at the top gives a shiny shite and most of our fan base are that used to being brow beaten they're willfully apathetic to anything.
Christ this club is crying out for someone who genuinely cares about it to pull it out of its near terminal decline.

It's just unfair that we keep coming up against teams that have players with 2 legs, can play football and want to win for their team mates, their club and their fans...

I have always believed you can't win promotion with kids unless you are one of the premier League big clubs with decent accadamys. Kids I believe should be drip thread into the first team, the pressure of relegation and expectations can be a damaging look at Bolton last year. Today we played Barrow we started with 4 kids with senior players on the bench. End of season nothing to play for yeah but when attempting a promotion challenge or play offs ( no chance now) you don't start messing around. So why have we ? As McCall been told to use what we have would explain the recruitment side. The issues above need to be addressed if so. Also small squad easy to manage however our discipline issues and injury problems mean need a bigger squad

 

Before he can think about turning it around, he needs to ask what are we actually good at?

What are our strengths? Because I don't see any.

 

I don’t believe in him but he has to stop this dream we are a play off chasing side. Under him we are not and he must make us hard to beat and accept his own failings. 5 at the back with a flat 4 in front and one up top. If we don’t win we have to learn we don’t lose.

Yes you could argue this is just media rhetoric, I honestly don’t think it is though which is incredibly worrying.

For one reason or another I’ve not seen us win a game this season, but have we won a match using the 3-5-2 formation? Maybe we have but I just don’t get why he hung his hat on this system, particularly after using it in a defeat.

 

You just know if a new man came in, he'd be dipping into the free agent market right away as we've too many glaring gaps and drastically undertalented or underperforming players.

That alone, if you accept it as fact, tells you Stuart is wrong regarding his outlook on free agents and that the squad is strong enough.

 

I tend to agree with you. We are at least 2 players short to be a decent team. A combative midfielder and a forrad who knows where the goal is,
Donaldinho needs putting out to grass.
Paudie has turned into a non footballing defender and is a real liability.

 

He's completely blind to these obvious gaps. They should have been filled in pre season they were that obvious.

 

I know exactly what he'd say - 'If we win our game in hand, we are only 5 points off a play off spot'

 

Paudie never really looked anything else, he has fundamental flaws to his game that shouldn't be part of a professional footballers game.

Disagree he did look like that CH who could bring the ball out and IIRC his first few games that's what we saw. Eventually we have trained that out of him to the shell of a footballer he is now. Last 2 games he has been a 4/10 at best.

 

He's slow and ponderous and gets turned way too easy. Another player who seems to have built up a reputation when not playing.

 

Just thinking about this question again, I genuinely think this is Stuart’s last chance at being a professional football manager. In that sense he should be doing absolutely everything in his power to be a success.

He needs to drop this nice guy one of the boys act and actually do the role he is paid to do. I thought this was his main downfall in his first term and he doesn’t appear to have learnt from it. I might be wrong but I cannot honestly think of one successful manager who adores this approach, even Klopp (not comparing them but you know that I mean) who is a likeable manager has a nastiness about him.
