There's no way that abysmal performance yesterday was orchestrated to loosen purse strings.
That would be a biggar gamble that DH taking our best defender out of a squeaky tight rearguard and putting him in midfield..... Oh hang on

People like you piss me off, you are so ready to spend other people's money. Rupp isnt going to be as cash rich as you thought. He has more than Lawn did but he seems wise about how he spends it.

He isnt a ego maniac and has put an ex city boss in charge. We dont need winkers like you sowing the seeds of discontent because you havent seen us spend big on some Twit of a player with over inflated wages.

You can play the moody, always says it how it is type all you want if it gets you the attention you need. But people like you are just joyless bottom feeders. How about you try smile once in a while it might help.

Well he isn't a fool is he?

One might of thought so the way he has ran our club so far.

    Well kind of not true.

    clubs are nothing without fans.

Look, if he isn't serious about running the club then he needs to fu@k off.

So far I haven't seen anything to suggest he is serious.

A football club is a business like any other and it has customers. In this case extremely loyal customers. Any business with this model has to look after their customers and reinvest money into the thing that keeps those customers coming back.

Rupp for me will do 2 things...

    1. He will stay with the club and take a conservative approach to running it. He will invest when needed but not just provide a blank cheque for the manager to spend. He will seek advice and put a proper business plan in place.

    2. He will keep the club moving in the right direction, from all we have seen you can tell he feels a sense of responsibility. But he will look for a new investor and sell the club as a functioning business.

If I had to guess I'd say he is more likely to stay. It seems the budget is fairly large but its spread across far too many players and the development squad. If all of that mess Edin created is gotten rid of then we can have a competitive squad again on proper wages. You cant expect them to pump money in and hope for the best. Any business has to keep the books in the black.

Showed a little too much respect for the opposition did our David yesterday. As with Sunderland. However, Southend, Burton and Shrewsbury are much more telling games as to whether we shall stay up.

Yes it is a business but without the customers it's nothing.

Do you want us to end up like a Coventry?

Look for me football is simple. Those that put their money into a club normally gets results. Rupp at this moment is showing no interest in Bradford City and our bench is embarrassing.

Option 1 or option 2 for me doesn't matter if Rupp isn't taking Bradford City seriously then we're fu@ked and so far since he has owned the club he hasn't.

It's now time to show us the money and to take this club seriously or fu@k off. It's simple.

Possibly, but I think if he is given the chance to sell, he will.

It would be like a rich British football fan owning an motor racing team in Germany when he isn't really interested in racing motor vehicles.

It was a business investment and unless he can see a good return for little hassle then he is happy to be involved, but if he can't see the potential returns and/or there's too much involved in holding the investment then he will seek to cut his losses at the earliest opportunity.

My guess is he will seek to retain the value of his investment as best as he can, whilst putting as little extra capital in as possible.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we have new owners come August.

You automatically think that having a week off is a good thing as it allows players to recuperate but look at the United match today, Spurs looked at times like they were the ones who spent the week at a Dubai training camp and not the ones who had a tough midweek game. Its often easier being in match shape both physically and mentally playing games in a quick turnaround than it is having downtime in between. I think it might have been Fergie who said once that he would prefer having a game every 3 days than having a week or more break in between them.

Hopkin might have also had less time to think about tinkering with the setup as well if there hadn't been an extended break

I was recently reading a theory on Twitter about January 2009 and how due to Celtic beating Rangers just before the transfer window opened and with Celtic extending the lead over Rangers at the top of the table, the Celtic board did not invest strongly in the team in January. If they hadn’t have beaten Rangers and extended the lead, the theory said that the Celtic board would have been forced to bring in more signings to compete for the league. After not bringing any signings in in January, Celtic then didn’t win the league.

Similarly, if City had continued winning through January, it might have sent the message that new signings were not needed. It could work out not to be a bad thing that City had a poor defeat at Barnsley for the reason that it showed that the team needs strengthening. I don’t believe Hopkin would have deliberately set the team up to fail at Barnsley though.

He won't praise individuals but is ok with naming the culprits for conceding. Strange man management.

I don’t think for a minute Hopkin wrote off the Barnsley game to try strengthen his hand in the transfer market.

Have you not seen the relegation zone? Teams around us are winning and scraping draws and we still need 25 points or so from 19 games to stay up. We’ve 27 from 27 played so there is no room for complacency whatsoever.

We are doing our best to bring players in but it is clear we have filled our squad with crap in the summer, some of whom are on inflated wages if you believe the rumours, and our four best players are all on loan. We’re in a bit of a mess, but one which recent wins papered over the cracks of.

Until Riley, Jones and Wright move on the only fresh faces look like they’ll be loans. The budget must be stretched if we’re bringing in Paudie O’C - who couldn’t get a regular spot at Blackpool.

The reality isn’t good but we have to pray RE Payne......

Please forgive me guys but I had a bit of a chuckle at this thread. It reminds me of one of my favourite films, Kelly's Heroes. Fordy 117 sounded like Moriarty and you almost came back with Oddballs "There you go again with the negative waves, why can't you say something righteous for a change"Oddballs
I have to agree with your reply though. As long as Stefan Rupp supports what Hopkin is trying to do financially and leaves the football side of things to Hopkin, that will do for me. I'm not interested in us spending money we haven't got on players with wrong attitudes, I'm more interested in us keeping the bulk of the players we improve. Something Hopkin looks like he could be good at.

just so I've got things clear - are you suggesting Hopkin effectively threw a game because he felt we didnt have a chance anyway and it might force the chairman to buy some players?

    I'm not having it.
I think Hopkin has far more integrity than that.

I totally agree with you on that mate, I would be very surprised and disappointed if that was Hopkin's plan. He strikes me very much someone with integrity. He will want Rupp's support not mistrust.
