I think the Stevenage game we got very close to dominating the whole game.

We looked good first half although with not much end product. Second half we stood off them and invited pressure. Rochdale couldn’t finish their dinner and missed 3 sitters at least.
I thought Sutton was excellent. The best player on the pitch by a country mile. No idea how Watt got man of that match. He continually gave the ball away and I’d have subbed him. Cooke was the same and was poor for me today.
Songo’o did very well as a makeshift CB IMO. He made some very important blocks in the first half and didn’t stop all game. Paudie didn’t stop talking to him all game which was great to see.
The 3 points is all that matters and we are another week closer to getting players back from injury.

I don't want my main striker passing the ball if there is a chance of shooting, I want him to be selfish and aim to score as many as he can.

I do agree though that it wasn't a convincing performance, too many stray passes especially Callum Cooke. However, I will take 2-0 victories all day long, no matter how we achieve them

Don't think Songo'o did too badly as a stand in centre half.

As well as trying to play the slide rule pass I want to see Cooke and Watt driving into the box like Sutton. You draw more fouls and give yourself the chance to win penalties or free kicks. Something other teams were doing to us last season and on a few occasions this.

Hats off to Songo'o & Sutton. Both stepped up to the plate today. Sutton may be gash in certain opinions, but he brings an energy to the game that only Vernham can match and Songo'o looked like he had played most of his career at CH. ALmost "Vince Like"

Chatting at the game today and I was saying that if further transfers are to happen, we need a player up front to challenge Cook, not compliment Cook.

He's a 1 in 4 player whom has not played the vast majority of games (in a season) since his non league days.

In Cook we have a decent enough player, without quality competition, we will likely be sat in L2 next season.

Amazed how surprised people were that Songo'o played well at CB on saturday evening, he was a CB his entire career until about 25 years old. He was signed as a CB at Plymouth, it was after 20 starts at CB first season that he moved him to DM after a few injuries in his midfield and never moved him back other than to cover, with him playing in defence 26 more times over his last 2.5 season at Plymouth, even started twice at CB for Morecambe in the league last season.

Would like to see us 'pulling the trigger' when anywhere near the penalty box, instead of taking a couple of touches too many and getting crowded out though.

    Why Adams?

He's not the one that's sold the fans a lie.

In fact, he's the only one telling the truth in terms of the clubs ambition.

If we have anger and questions as fans, surely we've learnt by now that they shouldn't be directed at the manager?

Not sure where you're getting your stats from bantamdave. Since 2018, Andy Cook has scored 35 goals in 81 games at Walsall, Mansfield and City - and quite a few of those at Mansfield coming off the bench. That's a goal every two and bit games, which I would take anytime for a League 2 striker. There can't be more than a handful who currently have a better goals to minutes on the pitch than Cook.

I think the players knew the importance of this game. Andy Cook seemed really ecstatic with that pen he scored. think it was a weight off the teams shoulders.

I don't do optimism but try to aim at realism. My expectation was promotion, my thoughts pre season was unsure.
I try not to get wrapped up in the cheap words from the club but I'm not going to pick apart each and every statement, neither.
I think your right in your timings around Walsall and Robinson. I think as a fanbase, including myself, I was a little disappointed in the signing and the performance against Walsall after two very good performances at Mansfield and home to Stevenage. Standards were set, expectations determined.

Of late, performance and standards lack.

Shape, communication, desire are becoming an unwelcome issue. So as I stated above, purpose and structure, especially after the early season start. Its lacked of late, needs to change

Throughout our history we've spent more time in the bottom division than anywhere else. But because of our relative success built on the big spending of big Geoffrey a lot see us a supposed big club, usually by a lot of outsiders who don't really know or understand the club. Take the Richmond era out of it and his redevlopment of VP and we'd have been no different to any other teams in the lower leagues who yoyo between league 1 and 2.
All this talk of new owners just around the corner if Rupp lowers his demands, its all hype. We never had a queue of perspective buyers even under the height of success of Parkinson, just a deluded Serbian/German and his naive business partner.
It pains me to say but unless a ruthless ambitious BFG type charcter suddenly decides he wants to take lowly Bradford to a higher echelon we are no better or worse than pretty much every other team at this level. We are what we are, no amount of new official partners or refurbished toilets can change that.
A dose of realism is needed and Adams kinda alluded to it in interview. You're gonna have let go of the past if you want to move forward. He knows what he needs to achieve success, he knows he currently doesn't have it. Time for our CEO to do his job and get Adams what he wants in terms of squad strengthening. None of this ringing his mate Dmac begging for freebies, its time to get on to his boss and tell him a few home truths. Thats if he can be bothered answering the calls or replying to emails.........

No doubt he will pick the same poor players that let the rest down then blame everybody else when we play poor and do not win, How in heaven Evans, Gilliard , Threlkeld and Keleher play every game is a joke when we have better players,
FCD did little to be dropped and is better than Threlkeld who has been poor, Staunton is a better more mobile centre back then Keleher who is slow and not very good, Sutton is far better than Evans who has no legs and lacks work rate that Sutton brings to the party, Gilliard words fail me how he is picked week after week Crankshaw may not be the answer but is hell of a better choice with much needed pace and running/
We are not good enough as a team to go in to matches giving the other team a helping hand with these players in the team week after week

And yet FCD has performed better than his replacement and given the choice many would suggest that Staunton would outperform Kelleher.

It's all very well saying the young kids aren't good enough but when the older replacements are at least equally as poor then it makes the statement look a bit daft.
