Why not ? Hes our player hes in the squad and therefore available for selection. We use him in January starting v Shrimps and get a bit of credibility back by playing him v Swindon on 4/1. Then he sees out rest of month with us - who knows if his scoring continued with us he might decide hes on to something and see out the season with us ? If not we loan him back to Swindon at the 11tj hour 31/1 for full wages. That way we have messed with their promotion push as well. Nothing in the rules stops this in the end it complies having turned out for only us and them. Its a win win. Doyle absolutely should play on Thurs for us !

 

Better still if he can get here for wednesday...!!

 

No reason why it wouldn't be allowed as long as it's all done in the window as he'd still only play for 2 clubs in the season and only sign for 2.
It would be a major gamble and lots can go wrong in the month, he could get injured and become worthless whilst we still have to pay his wages, Swindon could do fine without him and decide they don't want him or they could find someone else to replace him then we are stuck with a player on big wages and most likely a very unhappy player which could disrupt the happiness in the squad and stuck with him until the summer. It also wouldn't do the image of the club any good to any potential new players that we would mess them around like that or if any of the current players are good friends with him it could upset them like what seemed to happen when Hopkin fell out with Wright.
Also any last minute deal restricts the options we have to reinvest the money on a couple of replacements.

Fair enough, what I would say though is that Manager and Coach are very different jobs with different skillsets required. The fact that he got the Manager job at Park Avenue as a 30 year old suggests he was doing very well as a coach. That didn't work out and he ended up here as a coach where he again quickly rose through the ranks. I think it is not just a coincidence that he has outlasted the others behind the scenes at the club. I'll trust Bowyer on this one.

Not saying Drury is a bad coach at all. Just wondering if there needs to be someone a bit long in the tooth who is able to say to Bowyer "I think it needs a bit of a tweak as it ain't quite working properly as it is." and who Bowyer will listen to. Just wondering whether Drury has the experience (and maybe b**ls) to say it to Bowyer?
