Woods still red in the face from his pathetic diving attempt to win a pen earlier. Rightly carded.

 

Great 3 points, not so great of a performance. We’ve got wins in the last couple of games without being overly impressive but we have a solid defence and always seem to have a goal or two in us (not a bad combo!)

It’ll be interesting against Bolton as hopefully they’ll open up and attack us. The players looks quite tired today I thought (mentally and physically) with a lot of sloppy passing. Let’s hope we’re up to speed for Bolton.

 

Without wanting to tempt fate, on this form I’d be surprised if we didn’t finish Top 3 now.

 

At first thought this would be a tough game, but Mansfield current form is poor, so a 3-1 win to the mighty Bradford City is on the cards. Onwards and upwards.

 

That’s true, it will be something we’ll see both home and away. If Rowe is to start as the lone striker, it’s going to be a compact midfield area with very little flow to the game. It could come down to the odd chance here and there.

 

They were 2 down at Mansfield with 15 mins left and scored 3 to win, 2 down at Carlisle and did the same for a 3-2 win. Scraped through against Southend in the last minute, scored last minute against Barrow and it was well offside.
Nothing to fear from Bolton if we play the whole 90 minutes in the way we can.

 

I suppose finding the right game to rest him will be tougher with the run we're on.

 

He has, I wonder about confidence too.

There's a couple of times where he's been 1 on 1 and didn't really go at the defender with conviction. I'd love to see him really try and dribble or push the ball on and get by the right back. I wonder if he's worried a bit about his defensive side of things because he seems to go then stop then try again at times by which time he's lost the slight advantage he had. Just get yer head down lad and give it a try!

 

I’d agree with this in the main, he’s a standard league 2 full back. People got carried away by saying he’s a future championship player and as good as if not better than Meredith which was always nonsense. It set an unrealistic bar for him to hit every week. I’ve criticised him at times this season, but think he’s been better of late and think his best game was against Orient. That said he was at fault for giving the ball away which lead to the corner which Walsall scored from. Things like losing the ball in his own half and them aimless punts up the line are why he’ll struggle to ever go higher than league 1. But he may still improve. The way the team is atm though we don’t need to be bagging individuals out every two minutes, Vernam and Rowe seem to be the new names for people.

You know these last minute formation changes and tinkering for no real reason isn't going to please the fans.....

 

His performances so far speak volumes, he's a very accomplished player at our level.

 

Rowe looks like he has been scoring for fun, which he has been, such a confident finish.

Keep him here till his legs fall off!

 

Andy said Rowe’s goal was a bicycle kick. I think Rooney and Trevor Sinclair would beg to differ
