Robinson and Lavary are poor league 2 players who nobody wanted, I agree with you on Angol he’ll make a difference but has a terrible injury record which is why he isn’t playing higher up. We can moan about subs all we want but up front we just don’t have the quality, same with in Cookes position who was poor today but we don’t have anyone to replace him with. Faithful is right this team won’t go up without the investment which again we won’t receive, it’s been 4.5 years of total regression think it’s time fans realised where the issue actually lays.

Also - Gillead was garbage. He’s creating nothing, not scoring, time to give Crankshaw a go.

 

Agree completely but we are lead by an owner who doesn’t care and a lad who’s only experience in sport is running a non-league rugby league club. We’ve no chance

This fan is petty straightforward. Basically saying that Adams's tactics are looking suspect and some of our players (he highlighted Evans and Gillead) are not performing, and we as fans are allowed to be moaning. He's totally right. Adams interview was sketchy to say the least. Brought on players late, so not to allow the oppo an overload. Cmon.....who is the attacking team at HOME here? Wheeled out the usual "created chances" soundbite.

Seems to me like I say it every week, but if we don't win the next game, then we're in trouble. I KNOW it's early doors in terms of the season, but I can't see some sudden turnaround that makes these players all of a sudden click. And I can't see anyone from the bench pushing them to improve and fight for their place.

God help us if we have any more injuries.

Pretty much sums it up for me mate, to bring fresh legs on after 85 minutes just does not make sense, but to then embarrass Cook by hooking him is madness, once again Cook was left battling away against two Barrow central defenders who from the first aerial challenged sat in-front and behind him but he never shirked a challenge, talk about hanging the man out to dry.
Just as an aside IMO Barrow have been the best side I've seen at Valley Parade so far this season, in every department they were better than us from the first minute, although its difficult to form an opinion of players brought on so late I have to say Lavery and Robinson don't look players who could snatch the points, you have to question why these two were signed, maybe Turnbull going gives us a clue.

 

I’m adamant that if the season tails off to mid table mediocrity the money not spent on a bit of quality up front will be small change to the drop off in pay on the day tickets in the new year and STs next season. Nobody wants us spending like Derby but all the commercial deals are a bit hollow if your season is effectively over by February. Performances haven’t been great but I’m sure Adams is the right manager and Rupp should back him properly, not letting us ring round for favours and ending up with yet another last minute signing.

I've criticised him a lot but I'm not sure you're fair there. It was a well taken shot and right in the corner.

Where things went wrong was the header back into the centre of the pitch where danger can happen. He intentionally headed it back inside. If he heads that out to the touchline for a throw then the goal doesn't happen.

 

Let's try a positive word for the manager. Vernam (apart from his shooting boots) has been a revelation this season. After signing last year he was utter dross. What do we attribute that to?

Back line - both left and right back look like upgrades to me from last year.

Competitiveness in league - other than the orient game we have competed and could have won all of the other games.

Squad depth - we have some choices, that's why there's debates on here. Previously there were few choices, especially in midfield.

I am confident we will be top seven. We do lack up front, which I think we all recognise, inc. Adams.

Do quote me when we are relegated.

Looks like we are suffering without Angol. Bit of a shame the two backups are not up to snuff. Hopefully we get a fat dub on Saturday. It is good to remember bolton last season though, were 18th around this point in the season and ended up 3rd!

 

Seen little of the two but for me if Adams goes two up top I'd partner Robinson with Cook, only a few minutes against Walsall and Salford but got himself into two good goal scoring areas, a bit more curl on yesterday's effort and it would have been the winner their keeper was struggling to get near it.

 

It's pretty rare that I agree with you, but I do on this. Gilliead has exceptionally good ball control for L2 level. He should be tearing it up. But all we get is a couple of mazy runs per game with no end product. He had some excuses when he was here before - he was younger and it was a division higher. There's no excuse now.

 

We’ve lost 2 players to injury that would probably be starting in the first team. Maybe he banked on Angol and Eisa getting on the scoresheet more regularly. I don’t think Adams has had the opportunity to play his best 11 yet.

I’m not convinced at all at the moment. I can’t see that we are any different under Adams than we were under Trueman and Sellars.

 

Time to face up to the fact that we're just not very good. We won't be going up without serious investment in Jan - and that's not happening.
