Don't think there was a thread for it, but Dylan Youmbi also went out on an initial months loan, this time to Farsley Celtic.

They've taken Heath because George Sykes Kenworthy moved to York for an undisclosed fee a couple of days ago.

    Good luck to both lads.

Why would an apprenticeship as a pro footballer be soul destroying?

He should be learning, not feeling sorry for himself.

Jon, what apprenticeship , Heath is a Second year Professional footballer, getting no game time.
Therefore you tell me how does he sell himself to a club next season ? So for me it’s soul destroying.

Also, I have not said he feels sorry for himself. Cannot say what Heath feels, it’s my opinion of the situation and how I think would feel.

It's the reality for most goalkeepers and even more so young goalkeepers, he's was getting great experience being around the team and there are not many 19 year olds playing week in week out. At all levels it is a gamble to bring in a 19 year old on loan so clubs avoid it which means their only option is to stay at a club higher up as a back up. If it was so bad for him then I'm sure he wouldn't have accepted the new contract in the summer.

Good move for Heath. Bad move for City

We need a back up keeper pronto to put the pressure on a woeful Lewis. The lack of this is making Lewis more complacent as the weeks go on, and is now costing us goals and near misses almost every game. And let’s face it, Doyle is never going to play regularly is he

Was he ever a real back up putting any pressure on Lewis? Maybe him going out on loan will free up a space for a real back up

Harry Lewis was 24 and had 1 loan spell under his belt when we signed him.

Second year professional goalkeepers aren't likely to get first team game time, but that doesn't mean their experience is soul destroying.

These kids have to learn. Learning is best on a contract with a club, no?

They should cherish that, rather than grumble about it.

    Could be far worse.

Jon, not sure why you bring Harry Lewis into the conversation a quick look at Wikipedia, if it’s to believed would indicate that Harry Lewis had appeared in Southampton first team in a competitive game something Heath Richardson has not for Bradford City.

Can I say that I do no disagree with you the youth players have to learn , they need to listen to the Coaches, Older first team players and embrace the experience.

had it not been for Bradford Park Avenue selling George Sykes Kenworthy to York City Heath would travelled with the first yesterday for today’s game at Sutton in the full knowledge that he would not be starting the game nor would he be on the bench . He would have gone through the warm up stage after which he would sit in the stand like every other week , now I ask you , would you find this to be boring? monotonous ?
Or would you be happy, contented?

Well that is the big worry for me. I can’t see us bringing in another keeper, so with Richardson going that means there is one less, regardless of pecking order/experience

As I said, Lewis has been complacent enough this season, and this will make him even more so

You can't possibly know that. There is nothing different between this season and last season yet nobody was saying he was complacent last season. Richardson going out on loan for a month makes no difference, if we need him to come back we can recall him anytime.

So you’ve just totally not understood the point I am making

Last season was very different. He was out to stake a claim as our no.1 and justify his move from a reserve team. This season he is badly out of form and needs pressing by a decent back up

Anyway we’ll see what today brings

Yep he was warming up in front of us. Good experience for him. He is very lanky for his age that’s for sure
