First 90 seconds of today, yes. Otherwise didn’t even know he was playing. A nuisance is very generous

 

Friendlies matter.........

 

Early doors today Guthrie made a nuisance of himself but faded as game went on.
He made the assist for our goal with the right choice of pass.

The old cliche of a game of two halves.Until that shocking pass out of defence
we were creating lots of early chances and pressure but once half time came and
they made lots of changes for their youth players we weren't in it.

Their movement,tackling were superior and if you need to see the enthusiasm of
youth playing like they mean it, we were 2nd best all over the pitch.

Ismail wasn't in the game.Paudie O'Connor worries me with his delaying distributing
the ball and he is going to get caught out if he persists with that.Some of our passing
out of defence first half was dodgy and I can see interceptions costing us goals.

They have some very promising young players and should do ok this season.

We had nothing up front after first 30 mins and second half didn't create anything.

I know it was a practise match and fitness is important but worried if thats alll
we've got.

 

I'd be less inclined to be critical if he (1) stopped constantly moaning at the ref after every challenge (2) ran around a bit instead of strolling around like it was a bank holiday Monday afternoon on Blackpool prom.

 

Cheer up guys it was only a friendly with the intention of getting the payers nearer fitness levels for the start of the coming season.

 

Brilliant summary of this afternoons friendly.
Glaringly obvious additions required and without going over old ground most posters on here know the positions that need strengthening.
The recruitment clocks ticking yet again but isn't it always at VP.

 

One thing that did worry me today was the lack of pace DMH never once tried to take on his man Ismail likewise 2nd half. We are certainly more than 2 players short of a decent squad.

None of our strikers were brilliant today but Guthrie was better than Donaldson when he came on, now he was awful

 

Guthrie and Novak are our only chance this season heaven help us
Clarke and Donaldson will be out injured more often than not

 

Certainly and glaringly obvious lacking in pace sharpness and cutting edge up front.
