Disagree on Wright. IMO he’s so far looked a very decent signing. First half today he was part of most attacking moments of ours and equally supported in his defensive role and been like that most games he’s played.

 

We have too many bottlers, did we win any of the 50/50s ?

Just going on the recent form and other data that was a good point.

Win your home games and try and win the away ones and you can pick up 4 points from 2 games often.

That said, it does feel odd that we have players like Young, Harratt, Oliver sitting around and not getting a lot of minutes while the likes of Angol, Chapman, Pereira are neither scoring nor getting assists.

 

Completely agree Idle. It really winds me up these footballing 'realists'(ha!) who think we should be running away with every match four or five nil. They don't understand football. We're doing more than ok and currently have the best keeper and centre backs in L2. Oh yes, and that Cooke guy seems to score a few goals.

 

And saved our bacon on many many other occasions this afternoon.

 

I was at Salford and quite frankly if he’d had a half decent game we’d have won 3-0. Missed two very very good chances. And again today.
I like him - I’d just rather he was out wide rather than in the no 10.
But that’s not to hide from the fact he does a lot right but falls to pieces in the box

 

Agreed Kevin, I thought Grimsbys style was refreshing after some games this year. I Also thought Harry Chapman was excellent at times (as he was at Salford) though and from what I've read that's an unpopular opinion so perhaps I'm not the best barometer of the game.

The great thing about Chapman is that he tries unexpected things. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I love watching him play, proper crackerjack. He gets pelters on here from some when what he tries breaks down, but there are few players in L2 who have his ambition to deliver different.

Oh no! I'll keep my eyes peeled Northern, you never know. Out of interest, if I miss out on tickets I have popped to the ticket office the day before the game and ask if anyone has given backword and returned tickets. So far it has worked for me 5 out of the 6 times I have done it (Harrogate being the only exception, understandably) so there is always hope if you can get there or give them a quick ring!

I'm pretty sure the away allocation at Grimsby used to be about double what they gave us this time around, but have decided to limit away fans in favour of selling more to home fans from what I have read elsewhere

 

To be fair if they are filling those blocks with home fans, as it appears they are doing then you can't really argue.

With Harrogate it was different as they had 2.5k there on Saturday in a stadium which holds 5k.

 

6,447 v carlisle with a capacity of around 9,000 + .....so another club you might as well pay on the day in the home end. Reducing capacity to a rediclous amount makes no sense.

 

I hope they leave plenty of space between us and them……I hate the smell of fish
