There is also an area, on the fifth/sixth strip of the pitch about in line with the right hand side of the penalty box which looked as though it retains too much water. I did wonder if the pitch had been over watered and that studs would lift the turf.

 

Whole pitch, so it seems quite interesting that some areas ‘may’ develop similar issues, as in previous seasons. The end of November will be a good indicator as to how successful the work has been.

 

I thought yesterday that the pitch looked as good as it ever has done at the start of the season. And during the game, it didn't cut up at all as it has done in previous seasons. As you say however, the new drainage system has yet to be tested and how the pitch copes with winter weather will be the ultimate test for it.
