Stuart gained 5 wins in his last 14 league games FACT , Grayson 3 wins in 14
Stuart 15 points, Simons 14 points
Stuart was sacked. And Took the blame from the likes of Park.
Simon gets a free ride as its the players fault.
Charlton and Scunthorpe get a managers bounce. We get a manager dead rubber.

The facts is and you can twist this all you want.
Grayson had 42 points to play for. He won 14 points. Gets Praised for not having a January window. Yet had 3 months of the transfers that did come in compared to McCalls 1 week.
McCalls last 42 points he played for. He won 18 points. Gets sacked.
Thats fine! He deserved the sack but the hypocrisy stinks.
Also how many points did McCall get in the business end of last season. His last 14 games? Im not saying he would have repeated it but IMO could hardly do worse.Briggus, BoingBoing, rmbenson007 and 3 others like this. -
McCall had a depleted squad for most of January, especially in defence. We had to play a dev squad player (Hanson) and then a central midfielder (Guy) there for most of the month and a winger (Robinson) at left back. We also missed our regular CB partnership at this point. And I don’t think people realise just how much we missed Doyle through this period.
We eventually got the replacements in that McCall was desperate for (but not the striker he yearned) but was then given just 1 more week to turn things around.
Parkinson had an awful run in his tenure too, but he was given time and resources to turn things around. Nobody will know if McCall, having worked with his new players, would have been able to improve us. But it won’t have been any worse than what Grayson managed.Stop hovering to collapse... Even after his terrible run. I believe we could have got the 23 points from the remaining 15 games.
I honestly dont think we would have fell 5 league positions after he was sacked with him here.

At best it's just hope that he can replicate his previous successes.Inspector, WilsdenBantam, Nick_W_ and 1 other person like this. -
Results have been garbage and the performances have been below garbage. It's easy to "keep it tight", we don't need to pay Grayson to do that, Abbot could have done that, even Edin could have done that. But SG and his expertise were brought in to ensure we didn't slip down the table and remained in the top 6, that's what Rupp said on his appointment. Garbage.

Heres my opinion
- We had a decent first 11 that punched above their weight
- Injurys took its toll and squad depth was lacking
- Luckily we get into the transfer window well inside the top six and near autos
- Edin plays his game of poker aka T&A article
- Round pegs in square holes takes its toll and loosing run starts.
- After fan chants amazingly we land a group of players at 1 time
- A week later, Edin gets his wish and McCall is sacked
- Edin thought fortunes would turn around as it was McCalls failings
- Grayson is appointed to appease the mass as he is not a coach Edin can manipulate
- Results dont improve and we drop 5 places in the league table
- All of a sudden to keep the theme its McCalls fault the players now take the blunt
- Simon gets a free pass, and rightly so but so too should have mccall
- Hyprocrites fail to see the bigger picture is not the manager(s), players fault but the depth of the squad.
i want Grayson to be our new manager full stop. Not because oh his stats (4 points less than the sacked mccall over same period) but becuase he is a manager that Edin cant manipulate.
Can you imagine him being told to play Jacob Hanson in January when we were just outside the autos? NO CHANCE
Grayson would walk, and why not!BoingBoing, bantam2708 and rmbenson007 like this. -
Very poor stats.
If he stays it will be based on his well earned reputation and successful philosophy rather than his results here. -

It did not get the managers bounce. Like Scunny did or Charlton did. There is a reason for that. We were over performing under McCall and the wheels finally came of.
Everyone could see it.
We done a great job staying in the top six all season and in January 2018 when Edin was spouting about being an automatic contender. We played a game of poker and lost.Bronco likes this. -
If we are doing stats why not throw Grayson's Sunderland period into the mix as well.
It has definitely been a season that Simon will want to forget.

Same players were 1 point behind blackburn in January before mccalls 5 league game loss got him the sack and it was McCalls fault regarding formation and tactics when we had no full backs and a fragile squad.
So some need to make up their minds.
