The highlights remind me of a younger Mark Yeates - nothing extraordinary as an athlete, nothing massively out of the ordinary in the 'highlights' either - but he's getting the job done and actually, you know, shooting.

That alone could set him out among the over-coached riff-raff.

Most of the highlights show him as a wide left player but he also was not afraid to use his right foot scoring two or three screamers with it. I like that as it keeps the opponent guessing what he is going to do. Good luck to the lad, let's hope he is allowed to show his potential.

Feel like we've got a steal there considering Matty Palmer was once one of our loan players

It sounds like he’s a confident lad on the up. Im glad we’re changing manager and we didn’t have chance to ruin him playing in that ‘play to avoid defeat’ side.

He could be the new Josh Cullen, with a shot.

Someone mentioned about Bowyer knowing nothing about signing the lad Middleton, if true you have to ask just who put this lads name forward and who sat down and discussed the situation with the player and his agent ?.

    Stuart maybe ?
I was really impressed how Stuart brought Marshall on would shout at him and also put his arm round him.
K Block may have to start singing Penny Arcade.

Is it coincidence that 2 out of the last three through the door are Novak (ex Scunthorpe) & Middleton (Rangers) ?
    Conspiracy theories abound :)

Checked and Middleton is described as a left winger, so Connolly looks safe then and meanwhile Ismail is returning sometime soon?

5-3-2 deteriorated under Bowyer, as did 4-3-3, 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 before it - and the players that came in with those changes. Spot a pattern? Maybe it was not the formation and maybe not some of the players. As such, I think we should start again and not rule any of them out - players or formations. It feels like a fresh start. I'm sure McCall has a plan that suits his , er Bowyer's, new signings, and at least we have experience of other formations this season if plan A does not work. It will be nice to have potential formation changes and quite a wide choice of players for a plan B. Much as I love Stuart and am glad to see him back, he never seemed to have a plan B in his first two stints. I am hoping for more from him this time.

McCall always seems to be able to get his wingers firing in his systems. Daley twice, Marshall, Ojamaa at Motherwell. If we can get plenty of ball to him in the final 3rd this could be a great move for all parties. We've been crying out for a left winger all year as Pritchard hasn't cut it for me and I can't really find a place for him anywhere but the bench imo. From the clips on this thread he's not scared of shooting which will be a nice change but we just need to get the team up the pitch instead of camping at the edge of the box.
