I know this may sound soft, but you do feel it unfair when Portsmouth and Sunderland and Luton are chasing and competing with the smaller clubs inc us for players especially strikers. I mean how many do they need? Especially Sunderland it’s gone crazy. All 3 are up at the top. Well deserved and the players already have have got them there. If I was one of these players be wondering why need them. Give everyone s fighting chance. Luton and Portsmouth as we’ll previously financial difficulties so surely learnt!!!! And as far as parashute payments they need to be scrapped you go down rebuilds and try again. Everyone on equal rant over!!!!

Maybe we should have let someone else sign Dean Windass in 1999 when we already had Mills Blake Rankin and Watson

HAHAHAHAHA what a silly thread. Also Sunderland have lost their top scorer Maja. They were always going to sign a striker. Also we aren’t competing with the likes of those. We are competing with the Plymouths and Bristol Rovers. Sad state but true.

You're quite correct. Your comment is a silly one. Competitive sport is competitive at all sorts of levels and in all sorts of ways .. and rightly so.

What next? You've got better coaches than us! Boo hoo! You've got more fans than us! Boo hoo! You're owners are richer than ours! Boo fecking hoo.

Basically what you are asking for is similar to the draft system in American sport. If you are rubbish you get first dabs. They also don’t have promotion and relegation. Interesting that teams are accused of purposely losing so they get first pick next season.

Its just the way it is. Port Vale fans were probably saying the same when we snapped up Alex Jones meaning they couldn't extend his loan when they needed his goals in a relegation fight. Think they got relegated that season and he only made the bench for us in the play off final.

Pompey have gone through the mire since Super Harrys bankrupy model for football teams. Good luck to them.

I am not sure what business model Luton are run on, but I would not think that they had a particularly high income. Sunderland are a massive club, even in this tier, their gates are immense and probably the largest for many a year. Portsmouth are a decent sized club, perhaps slightly larger than us and with a history of competing at a higher level.
However they all have one thing in common they are all in with a great shout of gaining promotion to the Championship, whereas we are fighting for our survival. For most players looking beyond the short term financial situation, who would you rather play for?

Surely this must be worthy for a warning from the mods? Everyone's entitled to an opinion but asking a competitive professional team to give others a chance :joy:

We should have done this when we were up there and backed McCall. They are doing the right thing. Momentum is a massive thing. They are using it well.

Baying at the moon comes to mind. The multi million pound pyramid is totally unfair no argument, but the bigger clubs are not going to share nicely.

Not competitive though is it.success is bought. If clubs are lucky enough to have big financial backing they are lucky no ultra competitive

Well it wasn't so long ago, we were in the position some of the club's stated are in now... the difference, we didn't improve on our squad, and they are. Our owners fooked up when they had their opportunity. We supposedly had the financial backing at the time.

Competition isn't just restricted to what happens on the pitch in the 90 minutes. It's also about what happens for the rest of the week. And that means having better players, better coaching, better training facilities, more fans being attracted to the club and certainly in the short term, all of that costs money. And the EFL has agreed rules for how this is controlled on the playing side. These days, for the success of the club, it's as important to understand the rules around FFP as it to understand the offside rule or how the transfer window operates or how the loan system works.

You might not like the rules (and I don't) but those rules are all part and parcel of getting success for a football club. And every club has to play by them. It's a tilted pitch at the moment and we'd better get used to it and do something about it 'cos at the moment we're playing uphill continually.

You need to get onto the Brexit negotiation committee asap. Love your out of the box thinking-we really could do with that in Brussels.
