I don't see that as Gents' fault.

Let's remember if he's had a bad spell it will have been in the last few signings of the last window - which became an 'emergency' one, when Hughes decided he'd fouled up by insisting on 3 at the back and so when then desperately needed wide players so he could go back to a 4.

We sometimes forget that Gent signed the likes of Halliday, Lewis and Smallwood - who have turned out to be at least 'good' signings. He also saw Youngs potential - not his fault if him and Hughes don't get on.

Very few terrible signings. I'd wager that both East and Odusina will end up with decent L2 or higher careers.

Spot on. Oyegoke was great as a RM 'finisher' against Swindon and Wimbledon - two teams who are still above us. Nice that Alexander obviously appreciates his talent.

There might be an argument that such players, cost a team so much in terms of their defensive shape - that their swashbuckling play doesn't necessarily move the team on.

Apparently Kemp is not good enough last season for a poor L1 team, but now we fans who think he's the second coming in L2 - despite MK Dons been happy for him to go to Swindon.

I was unimpressed when I've seen him both times (Hartlepool last season). Yes he looks a million dollars - but only for about 10% of the match. Been involved in assists and goals is fine - but in L2 all players have to contribute to the vital defensive shape. Put another way, I bet Steve Evans wouldn't have him anywhere near his team.

I don't see the 'relentless intensity' that you must have at least seven players showing in each match.

In short, I'll take Walker any time instead of Kemp.

Close call to me, we are well endowed in that role with Pattison as well.

Andy O'Brien, Liam Moore and Ollie McBurnie are three examples of players who would end up playing at a level, way ahead of the the Bradford team they made their starts at.

Pointon is for the future. But a league two scrap with the likes of the wily Coleman, Parkinson, Challinor and Clough - is not the place for him. This is the reason that the wheels are coming off the Swindon and Notts County promotion bandwagons - they think if you just play skilful players, everything will be alright. We learnt painfully from both McCall's L2 spells, that it will not be. However, even then Nicky Law Jnr went on to have an excellent and better career on average than we did.

I think at bit like Paudie, Pointon will be fine in L1. L2 is too 'hurly burly' for him. However, I can still see him playing a part.

    It's not, because he didn't.

For the same reason I am not sure Young will fit GAs style of play

I’ve just seen the “inside matchday” highlights and the tackle is shown from a different angle and you’re right he didn’t. But it still looks like it from the original angle hence my earlier post.
