Just heard that canal road is currently closed due to AWM waste plant being on fire. Add this to no trains between Shipley and Bradford, Wakefield road being closed, top of Manchester road being closed and cleckheaton to chainbar being closed. Good luck to everyone getting to the ground today!!

Yeah - From my wifes back garden (3/4 a mile away) at 05.45 this morning saw large clouds of 'rust' coloured smoke, by 06.30 this was more a dull grey, with the odd black plume. Just had another look, and all smoke virtually gone, but I would expect a fire crew presence for some time yet.
An aside from that - Bar the smoke, there were clear skies early morning, but now quite a lot of cloud cover. It wouldn't surprise me if we had some rain, later ..... resulting in a 'fast' pitch for the game.

    No trains running at present.
Also, I need to get back home sharpish afterwards because we're booked in at the Moorcock Inn at 7.30.

I need to get to Baildon and then back to Bradford!!! Looks like it is only Canal Road that is shut.

Yes trains cancelled, perhaps due to proximity to Canal Road, otherwise the 13.11/13.41 and the 17.16 back would have been good alternatives.

All the other traffic issues have gone acording to the AA Trafic news. @Rocket@Rocket White Abbey Road now seems to be open!

They had said 9am earlier and then moved it to 10am.

Once the fire is out they will have to check and sweep all the tracks and electric lines for any damage etc

The road had been closed earlier now open. The roadworks at the end near Westgate look as though they are long term so potential for congestion.

Use this for up to date (ish) info. http://www.theaa.com/traffic-news/shipley%20uk/

I would hope all will be clear by about noon. :)
Just been out for a quick spin - Traffic around Festival Ave, Gaisby Lane and Stanley Road is above 'normal' for a Saturday morning ............. So I'm assuming Canal road is still closed.

Anyone travelling from Shipley side go up Carr Lane then go right down gaisby lane and come out onto canal Rd near lavers yard.
