    As you say making number one again in 85, I have to admit it took me many years to listen to this version as it got played many times at the ending of the night at anniversaries, birthdays ETC.

    I met Gerry after this was recorded. I was with Carol Sharp (who passed away last month). We were in Plymouth for a few days and Gerry and the Pacemakers were performing there, we managed to get some tickets and went to see them. Afterwards we queued at the stage door hoping to see him and get his autograph. We did and thanked him for what he had done. He was quite emotional and just said that it seemed like the best way to pay tribute to the victims. What a lovely genuine guy.
