Imagine the reaction if Bradford council rejected it.

I did see the Beatles there in 1964.

    Mary Wells as support.

Still can see it in my “minds eye”

Got to say I did like the Move and the Kinks more.

I'm not that bothered if the cost goes up to £50m I just want it to be complete and bringing people into the city on an evening.

It's not even the council paying for it. They're only providing a returnable loan with the rest coming from grants, NEC etc.

Let's just hope that it doesn't take as long as the Broadway shopping centre to get off the ground.

Is all the funding in place? I am just glad that the structure is saved and don't really care what it is going to be.

4000 seats? Needs some very big names then, sits above the Leeds o2 but miles below the arena, is there a gap in the market? I hope so, it would be great news for hotels and eateries and may save the tunnels.

Can't see that happening, they can't survive on just the odd big show and no way are 4000 fan acts going to turn up each week. Maybe once a quarter? If it keeps the tunnels alive it'll be a result for me.

I had a choice of restaurants when I was young, now I can only think of one (I don't like curries), Mamma Mias and that's out since they stopped doing seafood pizza, Skipton has probably 5x the choice

I saw them in 1963 when they were bottom of the bill supporting Helen Shapiro, some great artists from back in the day, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry, Ike & Tina Turner, and not forgetting the Rolling Stones.

I'll believe it when I see it finished. I still have doubts it will ever get done. It is Bradford after all, the land that time forgot.

You really think the council / taxpayer will get its money back? This not the first loan that they have lost out on and have to be written off

Yes didn't our council invest money in an Englnd V Pakistan game at Headingly a couple of years back and lost out big time.

And also gave Omar Khan a £200,000 loan to help made to the cash-strapped club in 2012, https://www-thetelegraphandargus-co-uk.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/11039056.amp/?amp_js_v=a2&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCCAE%3D#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk%2Fnews%2F11039056.bradford-council-accused-over-bradford-bulls-loan%2F , money is no object when its not yours.

Eateries?? There aren't any/many in the city centre. I hope this will be the boost that the city desperately needs and brings more bars and restaurants.

It 's going to be a popular wedding venue so that should claw some funds back as well as providing some fantastic fire work displays in town.
