It’s exactly why we will be forever in the shadows of Huddersfield and Leeds. Bowyer will now get a free ticket to years of mediocrity and so the cycle continues.

 

People need to remember that this season is finished and we are down. Bowyer knows how to get out of league 2 at the first attempt so it's a good appointment for me.

 

Bower took over a club who were spiralling down the league and turned it round .
He used the loan market very well something we are going to need to do.

I wasn’t particularly encouraged by any of the names in the picture but Bowyer’s credentials seem as good as anyone’s. It’s looking like an appointment to get us back up from L2 more than one to keep us in L1 which is probably the pragmatic approach. We look beyond saving at the moment so it’s probably for the best.

That worked out well.

That said, I’m not surprised it’s only till the end of the season. If we do go down, who knows what position this club will be in? If it were my business i probably wouldn’t be committing anyone any further until I had clarity of what the foreseeable has in store. There is so much uncertainty about this club right now. Let’s get the next 11 games done with ASAP and go from there.

 

I wonder whether short term contract is because of uncertainty regarding ownership and also Rhodes leaving in the summer?

Bowyer said last week that he has unfinished businesz at Blackpool, woukdnt surprise me to see him back there in the summer, now that Oyston has gone.

Whatever the reason for short term contract, its not ideal. We could be back to square one in the summer, looking for new manager and players, like we were last summer.

"Burnt Out" - Onside? Most of the players have not put in the effort tequired or have been injured to be this season.
If the manager appointment is only to the end of the season - no lesson learned from the Grayson appointment? I want to see the reason why. If Rupp and Rhodes are wanting comittment from the fans to purchase season tickets - this move is hardly to give them confidence. I can see an upsurge in flexi tickets being bought instead of season tickets and therefore a drop in upfront income to assemble a new squad. What a bad season this has been on a number of fronts. It is poor when the highlight is the removal of Rahic.

 

The biggest thing in any team is confidence, We have very little in the team and it is showing when good players under perform, The biggest task the new manager has is to rebuild and instil confidence in the players to perform at the best they can, It needs a strong personality to do this and lift a team off the floor, Lets hope we have made the right choice

I’d say it’s a sensible approach given we don’t know what division we’ll be playing in and the implications that relegation has.

 

Why is it a sensible decisions? We will have to get on with it if we are relegated and we will be behind others in preparations. A repeat of last years big mistake

Put him on a 2 year contract, get relegated and then he’s in the same boat as half the squad. If he fits and gets on well with the players, give him a contract in May with revised terms incentivising promotion.

Disagree. We should be hiring with both eyes on next season, regardless of whether Bowyer can keep us up or not.
