    Can't believe I didn't let my dislike for the Welsh rule my head, should have gone with Iran.
    (A dislike caused by a weekend in Llangollen when Wales were playing England at egg chasing, the anti English hatred was shocking.)

    Especially when the other team has like 9 extra players. Some of the challenges by Iran that didn't even get a foul were crazy. They were throwing their Elbows around in a manner more dangerous than Hennesey's challenge. Oh and the Iranian striker was offside when Hennessey was sent off but VAR didn't even check that.

    I suppose, strictly speaking, the game should have restarted with a Wales free kick, since offside was the prior offence. But, after a challenge like that, the ref was always going to give Iran the free kick.

    Some of the VAR decisions (or the lack of them) have been bizarre. They gave Iran a super-soft penalty against England but completely ignored the blatant foul on McGuire early on, when he was literally wrestled to the ground. Also didn't question the ref failing to give Qatar a penalty today when the Senegal defender both tripped and blatantly pushed the forward in the back.
