I'm up in elgin in a couple of weeks carrying out some survey work, I'll see if they've a game on !

 

Daughter’s boyfriend lives in Huntly which is only 20 miles away.

I hope he’s taken his gloves and a hat as that is as far different to Bradford weather wise as you can get.

 

I go up there quite a lot as I have family in Elgin -son, grandkids, great-grandkids too.
To be fair I've not noticed much difference weather wise, and the countryside is lovely too!
If Elgin are at home when we go next, we'll take a game in and check up on Freddy!

 

I’m only going on what daughter has told me about him in recent weeks.
The snow and the minus temperatures have been particularly harsh.
She’s going up to see him in March.
Unfortunately she’s not a football fan so there will be no trips to Elgin City for either of them.

 

There has to be more to it than just a loan till the end of the season.I cannot believe that a relatively small club,no offence, so far north,would be looking for players in England,let alone Bradford.I cant help but think some bigger Scottish club will be keeping a close eye on him.Good luck to the lad,it should do his personal development no harm at all to be in such a different environment.

 

The A9 up to Inverness can get snowbound sometimes in the winter, sometimes closed off BBB, but overall it's a nice drive up (the more you do it, the less time it takes!)
Some lovely places too - Cullen, Lossiemouth etc.

 

He’s a golf green keeper at Duff House golf club in Banff.
Tourist come from all over the world (mainly Yanks and Canadians) for the scenery and lots for the golf.

 

It's an odd one because Elgin are part time and presumably he was training full time with City. Not like he could train with City and just go through for the games with an 8 hour road trip every time. Borough Briggs will be a bit of a culture shock for him compared to VP. It's not as cold up here as people think, particularly in Moray.

 

Whats the nearest large club to Elgin. Could be Inverness .Is he anywhere near uncle Derek.?.

 

The biggest shock will probably be the pitch has grass on it.

 

There's Inverness to the west (Ross County is a little further north west - in Dingwall) and Aberdeen to the east.
Both about one hour drive (or train)

This is an interesting article with an interview with their manager. He confirms that Jefferys had a move to Brentford B fall through last year due to failing a medical. The reason he's gone for him is that they've filled their domestic loan quota but they can have 2 international loans which Freddy qualifies as. He'll join up with the team next week so won't play at the weekend.
