Obviously, @PlatinumChaosX@PlatinumChaosX and @TallinnBantam@TallinnBantam have copies . Not sure if they have installed the BETA yet that came with the copy they both won in the prediction league (which BTW we will have another copy to give ready for the full release on the 24th. So probably will be given away in next weekends game against Salford. And there will be a 4th around Christmas) BUT if they have or for anyone else who has bought it how are you all finding the BETA.

The weakest part of FM has always been the match/graphics engine. The animations were always a little off, and players would do silly things over and over again (not cutting balls back to a player who is free in the centre for example) but it's amazing how much more realistic and varied things are in this one.

For example, just look at this

players trying lobs really haven't happened before. And it's not just these kinds of lobs from the edge of the box, there are things like little dinks over the keeper as well. And its not just lobs, you so a greater range of skills, more realistic passing/runs etc happening all the way. It just seems more like watching football on TV than it ever seemed and watching matches really don't seem as repetitive as it can do.

COVID might have seen them have to push back some big changes they had planned but the fact they were able to put time into the Match engine due to that IMHO its actually been one of the few good things about COVID.

Oh and one little tip from me. I'm sure most people stick to director cam as it was always the best around option but switch it to TV cam and then move Height as low as it can go and Zoom as high as possible. Its so much better than director especially as it now does this dynamic zoom effect so it will zoom in and out a bit where it needs to. See the image below

I always use the beta to do a short United save to get used to the new changes before I go into my first main save.

That is going to be a non-league to legend save where you start at the bottom league (So National League North or South for England) and your goal is to win the Champions League but you aren't sticking with 1 club, if you get a better job offer you take it. You are supposed to use the club closest to where you currently live but that's Chester and I tried doing a save with them before and for some reason couldn't connect with them. So I opened it up to closest to any place I've lived. Cumbria has no National league North Sides so Spennymoor is the closest to Carlisle which seemed too far away. That left Greater Manchester and Hampshire so that left me with Chorley or Dorking as the closest. Dorking is in Surrey rather than Hampshire but I lived right on the border and have decided on them as I know the area better (I was 8 when I left the Manchester region but spent my Junior/senior/college years in Hampshire and went to Uni at Surrey) so I think I will click with them better.

I haven't played for about 10 years. Was addicted to it somewhat, and I've tried to avoid it because I know it takes all my attention, and I don't want to get divorced or the child care authorities knocking at the door :)
However with lockdown looming over here, I'm thinking it could be a nice mental work out. I remember once doing a full season in a night!

I don't buy it every year because the changes year in year out don't warrant the expenditure. Still playing FM19 but I am tempted a bit by it to be honest. I'm keeping an eye on a few streams to see if there's some positive reviews after people have played through a few seasons.

Haven't started playing the BETA yet, but hoping to get around to it soon.

Can't wait to get started! I had loads of fun with FM2020, I actually managed BPA in that game and did quite well with them ahahaha.

This time the aim is to get City top of the Premier League.

I'm currently at October 2028. Have taken City to the Prem, but got relegated straight away. Champs first season League two. 16th following season league one. Then playoff winners next season. Playoff losers in the Champ, then auto promotion to the Prem.
Florin Balogan. Get him on loan in your first season. He scored 50 goals for City. Then get a fella on loan from Spurs called Alberto Tenconi. He's a 25 plus goals a season man, not matter what division.

Enjoying it, but it has taken over my life somewhat!

It's 2034 and Bradford City have finished third in the Prem, qualifying for the Champs League for the first time :)

The board have decided to reward me with a new stadium. Lovely tribute to Stuart (who is currently employed by me as a club scout).

I've been in the Prem now for three consecutive seasons. Third is the highest so far. Hopefully Champs League football will make it easier to attract world class players, as so far, I've found that most of them want the club to increase its stature before they join. I've managed to raise massive transfer funds, by picking up a load of wonderkids from Brazil and Argentina and selling them on.

One player who has helped my cause, is an Italian striker called Albert Tenconi who I got on loan from Spurs in 2024 when I was in the Championship, and kept him on loan until 2030, where I signed him for 20m (once I had got into the Prem). He's now an "Elite Striker", Italian international, and has been top scorer and record scorer in the Prem with at least 35 goals a season. He's played 356 games for City and scored 258 goals. Currently still 27 years old so I hope he keeps banging them in! Certainly a player to look for if you're starting out.

As it's lockdown here, and bars are shut, I've been doing nothing much other than playing this all day - so if anyone wants any scouting tips from me, I'm happy to help. I've got 13 seasons experience :) Screenshot (98).png

Not sure you guys would be happy with the name after his last spell as manager but at least you didn't get the most generic name possible for the stadium. On all of my saves, its been basically the name of the place followed by Stadium.

My current save I've made alot harder for myself by installing a skin that removes all the attribute numbers, I now only get coloured stars which tell me the range that person attributes are in but not the exact number. So I can't just decide x is better striker than y as they may have the same coloured star but one may be at the bottom of the range and the other at the top. I have to just use my coach reports to work out who has the best positives and the least bad negatives, the training reports to see if they deserve a chance and watching the matches themselves

    CM0102 here.

Have periodically bought a copy of an FM game and have always hated them.

Looks like it's progressing, though, so could give it another go. There's just something about the blistering speed and satisfaction of CM0102.

It took 20 seasons, but I finally won the Premier League with City with a few games to spare (and ending Utd's 21 match unbeaten home run). Also in the semis of the Champs League and FA Cup in the same season, so might be a nice triple. I think if I do that, then "FM21? Completed it mate" can finally be said. Amusing to see Leeds in the relegation zone. Screenshot (178).png

bought it, quite enjoyed the new version this year as my last was also 19. got city into the prem in straight seasons after one year consolidating in L2, as quite like real life i had to get rid of all the dead wood! autos L2, autos L1 then won the championship. Came 15th in the prem in our first season, spent most of the budget on upgrading the training ground. buying back VP and now expanding it as we've got 23,000 season ticket holders.

Highly recommend Shilow Tracey, stats ain't all that but an absolute animal at L1/Champ level. Morgan Rogers a great loan option at that level if you can prize him from man city. Sam Hughes from Leicester also did the absolute business for me. Superb centre half, he came on the full journey with me from L2 (loan at first then bought him for 92k) to the prem, although the prem is slightly beyond him and my other centre half RIchard Nartey.

started off in a super attacking 4-3-3, but on reachiing the prem the difference in quality was so pronounced ive shfited to a counter attacking, shit house supreme 4-4-2. our rep is so bad we cant attract prem level players so my tactic has been buying young players rated at leading champ level, then developing them that final bit into prem quality. Keane Lewis-Potter from Norwich being the best example. bought for about 14 mill, now worth about 26 mill after a solid first prem season.

Won the Champs League, but lost the FA Cup final to Utd, preventing me the treble. Screenshot (179).png
