I know a lot aren’t interested in Carlsberg, but as the club are contracted to Carlsberg, why don’t they try to get other lagers from the Carlsberg group instead? Tuborg, Holsten, Baltika and Carlsberg Export are better options than the standard Carlsberg.

Ale wise, due to the Carlsberg contract, Tetley’s might still be the only option.

As a stadium, especially for football, it had too many limitations and isn't now fit for any purpose. That is more down to a lack of any sort of maintenance or development. The bulls used those limitations to their advantage and created what was the best game day experience in sport at the time. VP also has its limitations, just as many as Odsal. Neither stadium really lends itself to 21st century sports entertainment, but i digress. Hopefully some new initiatives will come to fruition next season regarding the catering.

I go to a lot of motorsport events where there's a diverse choice of food available from food vans and pop-up catering. The choices vary in both types of food and quality. Many are small independents who make living from these type of events, so they need to be on their game. They pay the venue a fixed price. Its then up to them to make buck. A few food outlets like this would be great. Even if the could only be housed in the club car park. This plus a couple of local beer companies might get fans up to the ground sooner and make them stay longer. Look at what Accy have set up with their 'fan zone'. Live bands, good food, beers and atmosphere. City need to take a leaf out of their book.

'No nonsense' pricing would also help .

I helped a couple of mates out ....... Who held a 'pop up' drinks stall at a do in Castleford a couple of years back ..........
ALL Booze priced at £2.00, Soft drinks £1.00. Both said they were happy with the takings, and suffered very little loss.*

Edit; *By Loss, I meant against normal pricing. ;)
But the service was certainly much quicker.

I agree totally about payment. If ppl know they will need their contactless card it should shorten the queues. They have good WiFi at VP so it shouldn’t be a problem. I like the idea of different stalls and pre prepared different packs. This might shorten the queues. Not sure what can be done with the queuing.

My first and most important point is that the food should be high quality, after that I am fairly flexible on the menus. No pie should be dried up! That is the point. Ppl want to eat what they like some ppl don’t like curry or spicy food in general. The thing is to try and give good quality and as varied a menu as can be accommodated

Someone should have a look at Oxford United's food kiosk set up; good range of food and drinks (including real ale) at reasonable prices and very fast service.

For a fan zone outside the ground, look no further than Accrington Stanley's set up, which also has to deal with best utilising limited available space.

Probably one to suit our concourse could be based on Coventry. Heineken Bar,Real Ale Bar and the other main bar selling food and other larger/beer. Problem we have is the other areas of the stadium kiosks are tight for space. Maybe for the new generation we need to get more trendy.
My venue this afternoon is local cricket.
    Keighley CC v Baildon.
Hand pulled beer and a pie, maybe a gin later. Hoping the rain keeps off.

Of course I'm only talking about in the Main Stand and possibly the Midland Road. The mutants in the kop are happy to eat slop, it's what they're used to.

They would drink each others piss if it had alcoholic content. One step above Carlsberg on the lager ladder.

I have always thought they could have a system like they do at the theatre. You preorder and pay for your drink, probably on entering the ground. You are given a ticket and then when you go to a special counter at half time,it takes very little time as everything is prepared and paid for. Worked at places like the Alhambra for decades.

Why doesn’t mama mias take one of the kiosks in the top of the kop, the one right at the end towards to corner stand as there is two in that area as you come up the stairs

    Anyway

    Mama mias
    Pizza oven
Sell a banging pizza by the slice for a few quid

    #justsaying

A girl I know worked at the kiosks at city last season and told me that the pies get defrosted and heated before the game and if they don’t sell they freeze them again and keep doing it every fortnite until sold...

A fresh oven baked pizza would be better than eating a 3month old heated then frozen again pie

M8, half the time the little hand held scanners don't work and they end writing the numbers down. And you're talking about a system. The system we'd end up with at VP is like the Deli counter at Morrisons where you pick a ticket with a number on it, then some one shouts your number out from the back of the stand.

I’ve never see the UBU bars open for football at the Ricoh, they are for Rugby. Doesn’t matter next season anyway.

That's disgusting (and potentially dangerous) if true. I'm pretty sure the Food Standards Agency would have something to say about that.
