Fixture Difficulty Rating by Bookmaker Odds

    I found this interesting, I wasn't sure if anyone else will but thought I'd post it just in case.

    The site Experimental361.com has aggregated bookmaker odds to give an average 'expected finish' ranking and then shown this throughout the fixture list for the season.

    Obviously bookmakers won't get everyone right and there'll be surprises and disappointments through the season, but gives an idea of when groups of 'harder' and 'easier' fixtures may come about. City's looks nicely balanced through the season (not factoring in postponements), although a lot of the favourites play each other in the opening weeks, whilst Salford have a very favourable opening period.

    No conclusions to draw, just thought others might find it interesting and wasn't sure which thread to post it in.

    Certainly been some money/interest in us recently.

    I think when the antepost lines first came out we were around 5th favourites. Now showing clear 3rd or even 2nd favs in some books.

    Could be narrowing the odds because people are lumping on City. More people bet on them, shorter the odds. It’s why England are usually second favourites or something at the World Cup, loads of people betting on England and the bookies don’t want to limit their pay out.

    feckers don’t mind taking your brass but string a few decent wins together and they’ll be quick to limit your stake to 50p.

    So looking at that we should have a nice Christmas run and relatively easy games to finish with - can't complain.
