There are a number of clubs who take their heritage seriously. Can you think of Newcastle or Sunderland or Sheffield United or Sheffield Wednesday or Notts County or a host of other clubs forsaking their traditional stripes. Could you see Man City giving up sky blue, Man U, Arsenal or Liverpool giving up on Red, Chelsea no longer playing in Royal Blue or Everton giving up on their version of blue.
I get sick and tired of the idea that we should play in white, leave that to the sign of 666 team!
Claret and Amber Stripes is Bradford City, stuff any miserable, limpid and pusillanimous alternative.
Be proud. Be unique. Be Bradford City!!!

What’s the kit got to do with - we’ve had a decent team wearing shit kits in the past. The balls up started with the sale of the club and it’s continued because of lack of leadership.
This club has been firefighting and sticking plasters on issues that have need addressing for way too long. We got lucky with a decent cup run, but we’ve been a basket case of a club for a fair number of years.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... I'd say that is pretty good and that we are no more a basket case club (as you say) than most other clubs.
Apart from under the rule of Herr Rahic when we took basket case to a whole other level.
I agree with @Lancaster Bantam that going back to our roots would be a nicer symbolic thing to do.Jay, Chad, BoingBoing and 2 others like this. -
Over the history of our kits, we've had as many without stripes, as we have with.

I'd love to see the backlash if Stefan Rupp, Julian Rhodes and Gary Bowyer called a major press conference some time next week, and after days of speculation about takeovers and buy outs, major investments and even administrations, they sat in front of Parker & co and said "We've got it, lads. Stripes."

- We were promoted in 96 in Claret and Amber Stripes
- In 1998/9 promoted to the Premiership with a home kit of claret and amber stripes.
- Two seasons in the Premiership wearing Claret and Amber Stripes (awfully coloured Rhubarb and Custard)
- 2012/13 season Claret and Amber (Hoops), Wembley twice.
The nearest thing to a Premiership team winning the Premiership in White were.......?
Forget White, leave that to the one off, Real Madrid!

Far to simple and silly to say Leeds’ success under Revie down to changing the kit to white, maybe it had an effect but I’m pretty sure there’s more to it than that. The 3 most successful clubs in English football history all wore red, though Arsenal have some white. The current best team wear blue, in fact I can’t think of any successful teams that currently play in white in England ( even the country’s had no success with the colour).
For every Revies Leeds there are far more examples that prove its nonsense. The likes of Bury and Tramere just off the top of my head.
It’s the players playing in the bloody thing that counts!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bigrod, Rogered Tart and Onside like this. -

Couldn’t agree more. Bradford City are synonymous with Claret and Amber stripes. We need our identity back. It’s a really good and simple marketing opportunity also.

I'm with those who want to see the traditions maintained -- claret and amber the colours for us. Last year's colours were nowhere close, unless, I suppose, several bottles of claret had been drunk... I'm less fussed about stripes, though I do prefer them, because as has been mentioned we have had many strips without stripes.
Home strip -- claret and amber, usually with stripes, sometimes a change -- e.g. the Lister Mills strip someone posted on here a while ago was really nice, I thought -- our colours and the city's heritage in one.
Away -- I must say I liked the mostly white with claret-and-amber shoulder flashes strip of days gone by. The black one of a few seasons ago was also nice. But would claret-and-amber clash with anyone else's home strip, I wonder?
Third -- if needed, whichever of the white or black strips is not the away strip.
This, of course, is if I were in charge! No... will be, when I am in charge

Black like grey are notorious as hard to see when players have only a split second to pass and most clubs avoid them, Our own expierience with black has seen us lose nearly every game we have played in it,
The most successful kits have usually been in white with claret and amber trimmings and we have been promoted using these colours either at home or away, The blue away kit was easy on the eye for players but not sure why we use it or any link to the club as regards colours, As for the stripes they have been our traditional colours and we have been relegated in them as much as solid colours of claret in the kit, The smart move would be to have a white kit for away and stripes for home in the traditional narrow stripe,
P.S. It is essential to have a bright light kit away from home this season as the floodlights are usually not as good as VP, Remember last time in this division and playing away in the black kit at Morecambe and could not see the City players on the far side as they blended into the crowd and the players looked to have the same problem with the amount of missed passes, Needless to say we lostThe Evidence likes this. -
