Female referees

Me too, she's going to need a lot of goodwill even in these enlightened times.

 

Why?

Most of the men I've seen week after week barely stand out and a select few are downright incompetent. All she'll have to be is adequate and she'll already be better than a decent percentage of her male peers.

In any case, does anyone grumble when Sian Massey runs the line? I've not really heard any criticism other than the usual boos or groans at an offside decision.

 

Because there's a lot of tw@ts about who think football is a mans game. Sadly, she will have to adequate as a minimum, cos if she does make a mistake, she will get pelters. In fact, she might make less mistakes than her male counterparts, but unfortunately, she'll be remembered for the ones she does.
Good luck to her. Really hope the game is remembered for the level of football.

 

Actually, I'm just sort of thinking that if this was the 90's, Sean Bean would have been smashing her in the showers at half time, after them both getting aroused over a yellow card incident 15 mins into the match. Of course he wouldn't see her again until the away fixture, but she's fine and has brought up their kid without a word (and carried on reffing....thus bringing about a sequel).

No problem with female officials at sporting events , provided of course they've finished all their domestic duties .
