    This makes my blood boil...
4 young kids lives wasted 'cos some idiot needs to show off to their mates...how many more times....?
as a consequence the good kids have to pay (or at least their parents) a ridiculous amount for their insurance and good folk can't drive down to their local for a couple of pints with their mates/family.....
Yeah, ok, right ,i'm old school but it's how it used to be.......

6 in 5 seater so I'd hazard a guess non in the back were wearing seat belts.
Like you say speeding is not clever but how many youngsters like to show off.

Terrible waste of young lives but unfortunately some are never happy with driving at the legal speed limit, they need to be macho and prove they can handle their vehicles at fast speeds, their families will have to live with this for the rest of their lives and by the sound of it the Uber driver who is injured was just going about his daily business.
    R.I.P but so unnecessary

Like so many other incidents of this kind...
That's 10 lives lost in Leeds alone in the last 6 months under similar circumstances.....

So sad. We all did crazy stuff as kids, but I think with no police presence on our roads kids are far more likely to it these days.

Also, the hot hatch backs kids have these days are waaaaaay better than the ten year old second hand rust bucket of a Ford Cortina that I had for my first car.

Yep, it's nothing new, teenagers doing silly exciting stuff when first getting mobile, nothing will change and why should it?

Your correct unfortunatly these kids driving like lunatics never think it can happen to them as they think they can handle their cars at speed.

Any loss of life is sad but thankfully apart from the taxi driver other incident people were not involved, you have to feel for their friends and family, "there but for the grace of God go I"

Just watched the video posted by an Asian girl on facebook, I think it was CCTV footage, if the lad driving had not driven on the wrong side of the road around the traffic island he may have been able to keep control of the vehicle, but as he was on the wrong side of the road and going at speed he could not ajust his direction and smashed into the tree.
Thank goodness there were no innocent byestanders involved, four lost lives is terrible but will it stop kids who think they can handle cars at that speed........I very much doubt it.

I saw the video as well today, pretty shocking, he was going way too fast, braked too hard, skidded, and slammed into the tree, I wonder if any of them were wearing seat-belts, if they had been, would it have made a difference ?

As you say, no innocent bystanders or kids about thank goodness.

4 lives lost and I'm just shrugging my shoulders and thinking about being thankful that no one outside their car was hurt (or worse).

Probably a poor attitude to life but I'm seriously both desensitised by this type of incident and utterly fed up of young lads putting everyone else in danger by their selfishness and recklessness behind the wheel.

    Yep.

See it every single day in South Manchester. And I mean every day.

I don't know what the answer is, but it is getting worse. More and more idiots getting access to high performance cars.

I saw the video too. Shocking disregard for others. Imagine if a car was coming down to the lights on the side the car went up? Could have been 8 dead?

My thoughts too, sadly. I no longer give two hoots about this type of 'accident' - I give way all the time to these rogue rodent 'drivers', simply because I don't want them anywhere near ME when they trash some more lives.
Will they learn ? NEVER. Not so long as an able bodied scroat can leg leg it, and LO, 10 minutes later has had a 'name change', whilst claiming to have been 'caring' for his family at the time.

Re the latest one on Toller Lane, It's not a tragedy, it was an accident waiting to happen. The only positive to take out of the whole thing is that no one else was caught up in their actions. The footage is clear that anyone driving home from work or walking the dog before they went to work or was out and about at that time could have been completely wiped out, then we would have had a tragedy.

I see this idiotic driving in Bradford all the time, walking to my car after the game on Saturday I saw an Audi S3 navigating traffic as if the other cars were moving chicanes.
