A disgrace to be beaten in a European final. On penalties?

Despite us never having even reached the final before?

    Yeah. OK Trev.

Under 19's showing how its done,

Beat Italy in the semi final (England never beat Italy in recent tournaments)
and beat Israel 3-1 in the final, after extra time so are UEFA champions.

Only saw the first half and Israel looked far better so thankfully turned it around in the second half.

southgate and his players have run out of ideas, wasting everyone's time- why not let Italy take our place in Qatar and let our tired lads rest up.

The Wimmen and Under 19's know how to compete and win tournaments this year

70min of utter bilge, then Maguire spiced the game up with his usual calamities.

When we were forced to attack we can look good which begs the question, why do we try defend as a strength when we are far more talented in attack.

We'll be lucky to progress though the round of 16 at the WC.

England need to find another decent keeper as well. I hear Southampton let one go in the summer, to some League Two side, that would be an improvement on the Pope.

Maguire will go to the WC because Southgate is just cluelesss :( and don’t give me he did this he did that ...... a decent coach would have had at least one major honour out of this tournament but due to his negative tactics we ain’t .............. be amazed if this lot get into the quarters

Ramsdale should be no.2. Arguably he could be no.1 given both Pickford and Pope always seem to have a mistake in them.

Complete over reaction as usual. England will be absolutely fine come the world cup and depending on the draw should go deep again.

Tournament football is difficult at best to predict but we'll be down as in the top half a dozen teams again and I believe it's fully justified.

There are clearly problems at the back though. Chillwell, if he can play enough over the next month and get somewhere near fit can resolve one of those issues, so there's only Centre back and the issue of playing 2 or 3 in there that's up for debate.

Going forward we've an embarrassment of riches and everyone in the world would like to cherry pick some of our best players for their squads.

I'm completely happy with where the team is going into the world cup and poor results in what are essentially glorified friendlies doesn't change a thing.

With three truly world class players in the team (only one of which played for WHU)

Grealish is probably the Sterling replacement I'd say although the shape has changed now they have Haaland so it's difficult to find a direct comparison.

Grealish and Foden playing alongside Kane is what Pep was clearly planning last year before he was knocked back and realised he could just wait a year and get Haaland for the long term instead. I'm sure Kane could benefit from the same formation.

Instead you know we will put out a shitshow of a formation and Maguire will start come the time we play Iran.

I’ve got no problem Maguire starting v Iran, giving our other centre backs more resting time for more demanding games, particularly Wales. Stones for one will benefit (if he’s selected). As much as a liability Maguire can be, surely Iran won’t trip him up.
