My mate calls it flower beer. "I'm not going down North Parade drinking that flower beer all night."

Suppose if this has an impact on us winning the Ashes you all owe me a pint.[/QUOTE]

Of course i will buy you the most expensive craft beer you want.
    Why?

Have you actually seen the english one day players try to play test cricket?
To be fair the aussie batters are not much better but they are just waiting to unleash ex-tyke mitchell starc on us.
So i am pretty confident the convicts will keep the 'urn but thats ok as england are finally one day champions in 50 over cricket.
    After a tied game.
Of course, nothing straight forward for the men in blue.
But if i am wrong i will gladly get that pint, mostly 'coz i'll be delirious.

Some fine bowling sprinkled with some shocking batting (Stokes, Roy) knocking over England for 67, joint second lowest score at Headingley. Feel unless, England can pull a rabbit out of the hat, that the series done for.

Awfully quiet on here lads. Any city fans at headingly? Great to see one of the worst Australian teams (in my lifetime) making easy work of England. Root looks out of touch and isn't the man to lead the team. Archer must be taken care of so he doesn't burn out, as he could potentially spearhead the attack for years to come. What's KP doing?

I think the bowling attack is Okay but would regard McGrath, Warne, Lee, Gillespie as high class rather than Lyon, Hazelwood and Siddle. Different gravy they were.

Lack of effort from england, know what they have to do but dont apply themselves, shot selection has been shocking.
This team is burnt out and badly led by both captain and selectors.
Years ago playing the oz every 2 years was ok as there were not many other playing nations but recently new countries have entered the test arena and with 50 over and T20 and IPL and big bash it is cricket every month of the year and this northern hemisphere collection of dubliners/saffers/kiwi/west indian and a few tykes is not up to it.
New blood needed but quality is not there to compete with the warmer southern countries.
Need to produce fast bowlers and spinners, Wood and Olly Stone and Finn- see a pattern here?

I said they would regret taking that review on what was clear to everyone it pitched outside the line. Stokes was clearly out, but umpire didn’t give it, and no review left;);)

Forget about the review. Lyon should never play again after that! ;-) Great knock by Stokes, showed that he really is a class batsman. Smith back in the nets after his concussion, fingers crossed he will be right for the 4th test and we can finish what already should be over.

Just seen the highlights as working. Incredible knock by Stokes, truly incredible disciplined knock. The ability to go from a sound defense to crazy clean striking. Just wow. Such concentration, energy and ability. A remarkable knock better than the world Cup?

He's an incredible character. Just a year ago, his 'offence' nearly ended his career. Stupid yes, lucky not to be charged, yes. He really could be an emmense all rounder, one of the best.

How on earth did we ground out that result? So many faults within that display, across the first 3 days. How on bloody earth did Joel Wilson not give Stokes out, from Nathan Lyon.

We need to resolve the openers, does Roy drop down? Bairstow, keep or drop. Pope come in? Whom gers dropped for Anderson? Starc and Smith I assume back.

We must improve in many areas. Otherwise, this amazing win, will end up in vein with the Aussies retaining the Ashes.

Edgebaston made me fall in love with cricket as a young lad, that will never be topped from a personal perspective. Plus we performed well against one of the best test sides to play the game. This was up there for drama, but we were terrible at times against arguably the worst Australia team I’ve seen without Smith. For it to get close it will depend on how the Ashes end, if we win then it’s right up there, if we go onto lose then it was just an exciting consolation. We built on Edgebaston to make history, Stokes has given the other 10 players a lifeline, I just hope we take it. I think we will tbf as long as Jimmy comes back.

You never know, but hopefully England has revived after such a wonderful performance from Ben Stokes. Fine lines, but to me the teams are equal, they both have problems. We shall see.

I agree, wouldn’t mind him lower down the order. We still need a couple of openers, surely we can find some in the counties.

Counties are currently full of bloody aussies, restricting chances for our young 'uns.
Got Mo Ali from brummie league, Adil Rashid- riddlesden, Johnny Bairstow-bradford.
Need to seek out the next generation not expect them to just turn up to the counties.
England u19 have recently been playing india/bangladesh and the results were not good.
Noticed only one player Quadri as being from immigrant stock and he was in and out of the team.
Need more talent with a chip on their shoulder and a Stoked desire(see what i did there) to better themselves and family.
Have no idea where all our west indian/asian/oirish(ok ewan) and saffers have gone.
