    Is gareth really going for the win though?
    Rice and Phillips together again when they just dont speed the tempo up.
    Sancho on the right or central doesn't just score goals he has created plenty for Dortmund.
    Foden,who is left footed, stays on the right to accommodate Raheem BUT at Man Citeh Mahrez plays on the right and Foden on the left mostly.

    Slabhead to bring the ball out from defence as Mings has done nothing to be dropped.

    Bet the scots game is the better watch but after Gilmourgate- c'mon the Croats.

    England doesn't stand a chance. We start well but after about 20mins we just do nothing. Better teams will put us to the sword

    Mind you could be worse, we could be that joke of a country Scotland. I have that on a second screen and they are barely trying to get the ball. Against us any 50/50 ball (or even 70/30 in the opponent's favour) they were going for but there are balls in this one that they should win and they aren't trying. Just sums the general attitude of that country tbh, getting one over England is all the care about

    We're doing a Germany - boring our way through the tournament! No goals conceded so far.
    I'm inclined to agree with Gary Neville - we don't have the midfield creativity to play very good teams off the park. So our best bet, in fact our only real chance, is to keep it tight with the two holding midfielders and rely on our talented attackers to produce a moment of magic to score.

    The last 20 of the first half wasn't much better. In all 3 games we seem to come out of the traps well and then just fall into a dull and uninspiring style

    True but we still had at least a bit of intensity even though we lacked quality in the final third. It’s like Southgate put them to sleep at half time, the pundits lapped it up though as apparently we can’t out play any big teams so it means we have to play slow poor football against the likes of Scotland and Czech Republic.

    Not looking likely right now but if its Portugal he absolutely should be sacked off. Sancho HAS to play if its Portugal as we saw against Germany Portugal play really narrow and the FB's get dragged inside with the wingers not tracking back so we need wide players who will stretch the play rather than ones who will start more narrow and look to cut in
