You make joke but don't be surprised if he gets a contract extension
Spain will show him up in the final IF England get there

Even IF, and it's a very big IF miracles happen and we win this tournament, he needs to go. His football is crap, his tactics are crap....he is a boring boring football manager.

It's annoying how someone so incompetent can be so lucky. People end up thinking he is good when he has basically just failed his way upwards. He failed at club management, he failed with the u21s and has only done as well as he has with the senior team because of the quality of players. If Big Sam hadn't been so stupid I suspect he would have lost his u21 job after another tournament where history suggests he would have failed

I mean just look today, they were raving about Saka at half time for example but notice how poor his pass after beating the man constantly was because he is left footed but was playing the ball with his right. That's fine when he is playing as a winger as he can cut inside but as wing back because the centre was crowded he couldn't really do that. Why would you not play the Right footed Trippier who has a great ball in him on the right and use Saka's pace and left foot on the left where he could have beaten players like he did on the right but be better placed to put a good ball in.

And this Foden experiment just isn't working. I've said it before and I say it again, its not the position he is being played in thats the issue, it doesn't matter where you play him he just doesn't show up for England, It's the system that's the issue as its not Pep's system that he has been drilled in. If he wants that kind of player in that place in the team he should be playing Palmer. Palmer isn't as good technically but he plays more free, he hasn't been programmed into one way to play by Pep like Foden, its probably a reason why Pep wouldn't use him much and was fine with him leaving. TBH though I would like to see Gordon over Foden, especially with Kane liking to drop the centre is too crowded with all these players who want to get central, we need to pull them wider to create the space for those central to operate in

Spot on Si. There's no coherence, balance, plan with England. And he's got a ton of talent to work with. They're in the Semi in spite of Southgate, not because of him.

    Atrocious manager.

I cannot believe the criticism. I don’t give a flying feck how we get there, if we win it. I’ve craved a tournament win since I can remember and will take one any means possible, even if we are playing shite. Italy were a terrible team when they beat us, so you really think their fans gave 2 hoots?!

Sure winning matters more than style but the lack of style and tactics that makes sense is making winning harder. Just look at how easy our route has been so far, even Holland isn't as difficult task as it has been in previous years as they are kind of in a similar situation as us in that they seem to lack style, tactics and direction but with an overall worse set of players.

It's similar to the situation we saw with Belgium's golden generation. Poor management completely wasted their potential and if we aren't careful that's what this group of players will end up the same way

If we win it I agree with you, but there is absolutely no way this team is playing to even 60% of its potential. A good manager would have beaten what we have come up against, a great manager would have us in this position with a good haul of goals to boot.

Spain play with flair and skill, we have had 2 shots on goal in the last two games minus extra time.

Ever since we appointed Mr Grey I have wanted him gone. Mr Cautious is set a task of winning Tournaments. Tournament football is cup football with bells on. The last thing you need is an over cautious manager. Last night he only changed it when we went 1 down and Kane took himself off. It is awful watching incredibly talented footballers try and play with one foot tied behind their back. At least they can do pens now.

Southgate broke the record at the weekend for the longest managerial run in the Euros unbeaten. He's technically never lost a Euros game, as the 2020 Final goes down in the record books as a draw. His 12 games unbeaten have brought 7 wins and 5 draws.

More pointless trivia, but this Euros has also set records for the fastest goal, the latest goal, the fastest red card and the latest red card.

Better. Best 45 this tournament by a mile. Mainoo is running it, what an exceptional young talent.

This is a bang average Holland side and we need to take it to the shed. It needs Southgate to be proactive and male subs early enough to keep the energy up, but he won't

This is exactly the time changes need to be made. We have a much better bench, it needs to be frashend up. Kane off for a start, probably Saka too.

    But Southgate is completely reactive.

He has been getting some stick online about the number of passes sideways and backwards. The stat that of players who played 100mins or more the only player to make fewer forward passes than him has been Callum McGregor all day and while obviously stats don't lie they certainly don't always tell the full picture. He is very much like Carrick who used to get the same criticism thrown at him. There are both negative and positive backwards/sideways passes. Negative ones are where you get the ball, slow things down and are forced to make a backwards or sideways pass that has no purpose. Positive backwards and sideways passes are when they show for the ball, drag an opponent out with them and then playing a 1 or 2 touch pass and then making another move. That's a midfielder who is dictating the tempo and preventing the opponent from setting up which creates space for others to exploit and its certainly not a stick to beat him around the head with just as it should never have been one to beat Carrick with (England missed out greatly by not using Carrick more which seemed at times like England Managers were buying the negativity about him rather than watching him and seeing what he actually did)

That first half was sensational and just shows what this talented side can do. Mainoo has been brilliant, cool calm and collected. Foden was fantastic last night, very unlucky to not get a goal. Can we beat Spain, difficult, but let’s be positive.

Better performance and some good subs by Southgate last night - hopefully we kick on and beat the Spanish. We have had a decent draw and had some poor results but if he wins it then got to admit I was wrong about him.

Spain look to have the edge, as a team they look superior but player for player I am not sure how many would actually get in the England team?

Rodri yes, 101% and then you can argue a case for Simon in goals, Carvajal, Olmo, Yamal and Williams but they aint walking into our side.

Last night was what I expected of England when they rocked up to this tournament and in a way it's why people have been frustrated when you look at the first 45min and you know they can produce that.

There is alot of talk about how England have had it easy with the draw, however it's not our fault that other teams didn't win their groups. France failed to win their group which would have seen them on our side of the draw, Belgium likewise. Before a ball was kicked you'd have expected France and Belgium in the slots that Romania and Austria ended up taking, that's not's England's issue.

I've been very critical of Southgate mainly because I know we can play better and last night proved we can, however this is a results business and we are in the final.

Can we beat Spain? Well could Man Utd beat Man City in the FA Cup Final? Were Greece the best team in Europe when they won the Euros? Were Italy the best team in Euro 2020. It's a one off game, anything can happen. In a full league it is very rare not to see the best team win it, in knockout football the so called best team doesn't always win.

Spain haven't had it all their own way, Germany and France have made them look vunerable, it will be a very different game as I expect England to have little of the ball, but we have players who are fantastic on the break and can cause damage. It's time for a new name on this trophy.
