    It’ll be interesting to see what horizon this will bring.

    Personally I would welcome, as is anticipated, a more freer platform and less censorship of those (usually right leaning) who have views of which aren’t necessarily main stream or politically correct.

    Social media and in fact British society has become too soft. Imagine a scenario (god forbid) where we had to go out and fight, but then realising we’ve created a society where men cry over a nasty word said by someone over a computer.

    Exciting times IMO and hopefully for the greater good of us all.

    Amazing that Putin, Isis and the Taliban are allowed accounts but Trump is banned, Even more so that they deleted the true post that Bidens son was involved in alleged fraud Ukraine and that a report confirming no Trump ties to Russia, Both deleted before the election, As with most Media free speech is decided by the owners

    Yes, apparently most of the Republican Party are hoping Trump doesn't go back on Twitter because they think he would alienate the undecideds and spoil their chances in the midterms.

    I wasn't actually suggesting that he be permanently banned - just not looking forward to the prospect of having the orange moron in all our faces again.

    Jesus Trev - where do you get this stuff from? Pravda? It's established beyond any doubt whatsoever that Trump had his his lackeys put pressure on Zelensky to go digging for dirt on Hunter Biden and that Trump witheld aid to Ukraine to pressure them. Also that Trump publicly supported Putin, on camera, against the intelligence from his own security services. Anyone who thinks that Putin has nothing on Trump is naive in the extreme.

    I believe every account will have to be verified, hopefully that means everyone will be accountable for what they say and not be able to hide.

    Something needed to be done with Twitter. Its censorship criteria had become de facto editorial bias and if you're holding yourself out as simply a platform for people to air their views that's not good.

    Whether Musk is the person to turn that around I'm not sure. I'm surprised he can be bothered getting involved with it to be honest and the price looks massive.

    The Mueller report found no evidence that Trump directly conspired with Russia over his election to president. But it clearly did find evidence that Trump obstructed the investigation (and then concluded that it was beyond the enquiry's remit to prosecute him for that obstruction). So why did Trump obstruct the enquiry? There may be no evidence of direct conspiracy in the election, but that doesn't mean that there are no links going back years between Trump and Putin. It's clear that Trump worships Putin and that Putin went to extraordinary lengths to influence the election of Trump in Russia's best interests, even if Trump wasn't directly complicit in that interference. Putin loves to install patsy leaders in other countries and Trump is one of them.
