    Wing backs need 3 CBs?

Walker is our best number 10 regardless. I wouldnt be playing him out wide.

Of course, the “ 3” do interchange anyway.

We shall see and it’s all guesswork at the moment as quite a few of the incomers have played in multiple positions for their previous clubs.

I’ll leave it to the experts, I’m speculating pure and simple.

If Watt decides to stay it would be brilliant. He is fully entitled to try and do the best deal he can for his pocket and career

Im not against that but its obvious he would only be staying now because he couldnt get his desired move away.

We are the bridesmaid, not the bride. Haha

True, but everyone will know that his decision came down to no one wanting to pay compensation so he ended up back with us where he didn't really want to be. There'd be bridges to build.

If City can’t agree a fee then it’s not the players fault.

Not saying it is. All I'm saying is, if that was the scenario, then he clearly states a preference for leaving and only ended up staying because the numbers wouldn't work. Or put another way, if compensation wasn't an issue, he'd have signed elsewhere already like Vernam and Paudie.

Wont be the first player to believe he should be playing at a higher level and return with his tail between his legs, didn't Mezza turn his original offer down but couldn't find another club at a higher level.

He certainly did. Until he found south London more attractive.

We've offered him what we think he's worth. If he thinks he can do better elsewhere then good luck to him.

I’m pretty sure he’s on his way but I just wonder if, as others have suggested, he’s seen the recruitment and started to question the wisdom of moving on.

If watt stays he's on the bench. If he goes hood luck. He's the least of the three I wanted to keep. No tears either way. Our work is done, apart from another out and out no 9

Our work isn't done by quite a long way according to Hughes. I'll take his word over yours.

Doubt it, if he stays he’ll start along side Smallwood. Both started over 40 league games for their respective clubs last season, which with our history with injuries is an asset in itself in such a key area of the park.

I’d like him to stay and for me watching Sparky’s 13 games in charge so far he is the one I most wanted to stay, he was a big miss when not playing. Smallwood and Watt behind Walker would be better than anything anyone in the league could bring to the table in midfield.

Depending on out goings and you can’t force players who may be on decent contracts to shift

If Watt hasn't got anything fixed up by now, he needs to realise his agent is a bit shit.

Not for being unable to secure a move to a club in a higher division, but for talking incessantly about it then failing to deliver.

If you don't get a better offer, you don't get a better offer, but Watt's agent has been a blabbermouth the whole time linking his client to all sorts of clubs. If those 'links' are just bullshit, then that's poor work.

You certainly can , by paying them the rest of their contract. You should know better Park.

Watt was the best passer at the club. Linked play well. Suffered due to a lack of movement ahead of him. I believe the youth and pace we have signed would benefit Watt significantly. He is still young and capable of developing significantly under Hughes’ wing. I would want to keep him for 2 years like many of the others have been offered. If he goes it would be a blow for how Hughes has stated he wants to play.

Correct. Mezza then lost his first team place to Sheehan. Didn't get it back until that memorable and pivotal Halifax Town Cup match, which arguably saved Parky's job (although sensible old codgers like us never asked for his sacking ;)).

However, from that moment on he was a far better player - as if the messing around had matured him a bit.

I always thought it was fantastic man-management by Parky, who you will remember was in the middle of a terrible 30 games or so match spell.
