    A few changes for this season.

    For EFL league matches:
    5 yellows in the first 19 matches = 1 match suspension.
    10 yellows in the first 37 matches = 2 match suspension.
    15 yellows in the whole season = 3 match suspension.

    Yellow card suspensions only apply to EFL league matches. Other competitions (League Cup, FA Cup etc. will have their own separate suspension rules.

    Red card rules are as per last season and apply across the main competitions (League, League Cup & FA Cup, but not the Trophy, which has its own separate rules). These are where red cards are given for:
    A second yellow in a match = 1 match suspension.
    Denying a goal or an obvious goal scoring opportunity = 1 match suspension.
    Using offensive or insulting or abusive language/gestures = 2 match suspension.
    Violent conduct or serious foul play = 3 match suspension.
    Spitting = 6 match suspension.
