I think the WOAP article probably hits the nail on the head in relation to Rupp only having contact with Rahic and therefore getting a very one sided view of things. Obviously as we slipped to the bottom of the table he presumably started to take a greater interest into where he had invested a chunk of his money and had contact with others as to what the true position was. (Am I correct in thinking that Wetherby Whaler posted that he/someone he knew had made contact with Rupp and made his/their feelings known about what the true position was in relation to events at the club). As a result Rupp must have had discussions with someone and made the decision that Julian Rhodes was invited to come in and run the club over Rahic's head. From that moment it was really only a matter of time before todays announcement came about. The thing that surprises me is the actual wording, I never expected it to be quite so blunt.

Fantastic news given how much he has underperformed in the footballing side for 18 months.
He was part of the most rapid decline I can remember.
Rupps statement is damning and maybe rahic has pulled the wool over Rupps eyes previously and it’s gone too far.
Rupp is clearly investing and I do not believe the people who post he has not put his own money in yet. He clearly has.
Time to move forward again as a club. There is no easy excuses any more for anyone on the footballing side. Abbott can no longer be blamed for bad signings, Rahic can no longer be blamed for interference and demoralising the staff/players. Every is accountable. Time to step up and get us back up the leaguermbenson007, Manningham bantam, Two Legs and 1 other person like this. -

Quite amazing the damage that's been done in such a short space of time.
If we can just avoid the drop this season and look forward to a fresh start for 19/20.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...The Evidence, Bronco, Utters0 and 1 other person like this. -

Reading between the lines Rahic still owns shares in the club. It is likely quite difficult to force Rahic to sell, even if Rupp were to make a big offer. I think it would depend if there was anything inn the original shareholders agreement when they first took over.
Rahic may or may not sell his shares, this can take a longer time and we don't know his intentions (he might still think its a good investment)
With that said, the statement from Rupp seems pretty definitive to me. Rahic will not be seen at VP again and will not in any way be involved in making any decisions behind the scenes.
To any fans thinking that Rahic MUST sell his shares before they start supporting the club, I would urge a bit of realism and perspective. This is excellent news for the club and time for us to start moving forward again!broadsword, Utters0, Onside and 1 other person like this. -
Feels like a massive weight has been lifted off our shoulders.
There’s no better sight or sound than a full, bouncing valley parade.
@Ricc . I gave you a bit of grief early days for the stick you gave Edin, but you stuck to your guns and saw what I and a few others didn’t. Hats off fella. By the way, can you give me 6 numbers for the lottery tomorrow night...Steve1970, Botswana Bantam, Hulmebantam and 1 other person like this. -
Fantastic news and a damning statement. Fan power won & common sense prevails, now let’s get cracking on repairing the damage & saving OUR club....Champagne that was being saved for Christmas has been opened tonight!

Good job the fans didn’t just sit there quietly saying nothing, not rocking the boat in case it ‘affected our performances’...... Glad he’s gone, clearly not cut out for the role despite him thinking he was. The damage may well be irreparable in terms of this season, but at least he can’t taint this club anymore with his ‘football knowledge’.
It should show Rupp how close to the club the fans are, he needs to try and somehow spearhead some sort of turnaround now. If we can’t salvage this season, which is still very likely, he’ll need to show the fans that he can build us back up if we go down (jury is out though). Having said that, if it happens, he might get little leeway (and probably justly so), so he may well need the great escape to provide his own. He needs to show lessons have been learnt and that there is a decent plan going forward at the very least. Hopefully our team can make a proper fight of avoiding the drop, the support is there if the squad can build a togetherness with the fans, but it is down to them now to earn the respect of the fans and give those fans a belief that this team is fired up and committed for the battle ahead.Tony Wilkinson, BingleyBantam, abbomf and 1 other person like this. -
