Negotions were started at the end of May.. if not then city are in breach of EFL rules.. if they were way off in initial terms wanted and offered the. Maybe a formal offer was never given as it was pointless but negotiations at least had to have started.. otherwise city will be in trouble with the EFL

 

The rules actually state that the terms offered must be given by the fixed date, not just that they are going to make an offer. That is why I find it strange that his wife says no offer was made.

 

Thanks for the clarification... which all suggests a contract was offered.. and surely it would have gone to his agent first? Rather then their home?? However non of us know how that works so pointless debating that point

 

The club confirmed he had been offered a new contract on 17th May when they released the retained list, the EFL rules state he has to be informed in writing (the rules are earlier on in this thread), according to the club Colin turned the deal down and wanted to negotiate a better deal.

Then on the flip side Colin's wife's has tweeted he never received an offer and Colin and his agents response will be very different.

I'm only putting together what has been said by both sides, I've no idea who is right and who is wrong.

 

Dunno, her reply was a bit of both, but "contract with terms" would suggest they haven't received an offer with the terms ?

Suppose it would depend how you read it ?

I know my contract was renewed recently at work and 2 copies were given to me with the offers/terms in it, one of which I had to sign and return, the other was to keep as my copy, not sure if Footballers contracts work in the same way as Factory workers though

 

It's to be hoped that if City DID send an offer out that it has a paper trace in the office, we would send anything like this out recorded or special delivery so a signature is required and have a POD for records. If not they will be in deep cackiness.

Surely all irrelevant? If I heard the club were offering me a new deal and I still hadn’t received details of it, I’d be on to my representative and the club on a regular basis until I had a copy in my hand.
