Just got back and amazed at some of the comments on here. 2nd half in particular Costello did really well and gave us options going forward. Clearly has a football brain and just needs to build his confidence imo

 

Sorry Bantam Lancs but you are correct with your last statement, "I could be wrong on both counts", you are indeed wrong.

There was no "so called exposure", there was actual as indeed the subsequent F.A. Commission hearing found when they handed Evans both a fine and a Stadium ban at which point he was at Rotherham. As far as the Tax issue is concerned this was very serious, so serious that as I recall a member of staff who had been dragged into the situation took their own life. I will leave it at that but Kevin is right to make the points he has on your post.

I thought the first half was average at best but the second half we pretty much controlled the game, I nearly posted at half time what did Costelloe offer the team but playing towards the City fans second half he grafted and was quite a hand full for the Doncaster defenders.
Cracking away day with the Dolly boys unfortunatly as we spoke about on the phone it will be me my last until after my op.
With regards Cook as you say with the right service he'll score goals for us, he knows his limitations but he's certainly a hand full in the air.

Yesterday's game was a rare miss for me due to work and I've run out of holidays but I'll be at Gillingham on Tuesday. Had to settle for Filipe Morals on Radio Leeds. He was saying that Costello did a lot of intelligent running off the ball which probably helped free up space for Cook. I think a lot of us don't notice a lot of stuff that an ex pro like Morals will spot.

 

Fantastic response from the players, manager and fans after last week's shocker against Barrow.

Going back to the tax issue, it was deliberately designed to cheat the public purse and fraudulently gain promotion at the expense of other league members.

Good win, comfortable throughout and more of a threat second half. The worry is whether we have enough goals in us, but we were never losing that game.

 

Corporate facilities and other income streams rather than capacity I'd imagine.

I forgot the rule that says if you can't afford to buy something you are not allowed an opinion on it... and TBH it's probably more like £10 million...

 

18 points from the last 10 is what's needed for the rest of the season for play-offs.

However, if we can continue to take 9 points from every 4, like we've just done - automatics are not a pipedream.

We've just been to Stockport, Wimbledon, Stevenage and Doncaster - all teams that will be disappointed not to be in the play-offs and conceded just 2 goals. That's impressive.

And I think our very good defence deserves credit. Yes, we need to create more - but I can't see us conceding any more per game than we already are doing.

 

Enjoyable game, proper Yorkshire derby with high energy. I thought Donny were poor and we never gave them a sniff, they had about 5 minutes second half and the Walker made a few forward runs which seemed to lift everyone again and get us back in charge. Shame for their worldie save and Smallwood’s chance cleared off the line as 2 or 3 would have been fairer imo.

Halliday was fantastic second half after a poor game last week, along with the rest of the back 4 who were solid.

 

Todays result was absolutely massive, especially with Gillingham away coming up on Tuesday. After winning today we can now take a creditable draw if need be on Tuesday and it will still have been a good week, but if we hadn't won today a win Tuesday would have been a near must.

 

Talking about midfielders The much maligned Smallwood was excellent today

 

Poor? Really? This was a really battling performance away from home. Walker, Halliday, Clayton, Gillead, Stubbs were top drawer.

 

Is that 3 assists from corners for Clayton already? One was ridiculous tbf but even so it’s a marked improvement as it’s not like we get tons of corners, just one today. Hopefully he stays on them. I liked his cheeky attempt from a free kick to catch the keeper out as well.
