We seem to be getting on the wrong end of about an average of 2 goals disallowed per game.
Unfortunately not able to get to games at the moment so would value any views on whether we just unlucky or are
an easy target as bottom of the league can often say it is bad luck.
My guess is it is bad decisions made by bad officials.
Any guidance would be most appreciated.

One of the goals yesterday was ruled out as the ball went out of play as the cross came in. It did look out from where I was sat in lower Kop

That is what I thought from Midland Road but it certainly looked close.

That was what we thought, but the keeper took a free kick rather than a goal kick, so I'm not sure what it actually was disallowed for!

I can only guess that Linolady flagged for ball going out of play which it did and the ref (Twit in black) misinterpretated
    as a flag for offside.........

No she signaled for offside thats why it was free kick not goal kick

From upper kop third goal looked fine (but was at the other end of the ground). 4th was offside imo. Haven’t watched replays so could be wrong.

We were fairly close to it in A block of the Midland Road. It looked clear that the ball went out of play behind before it got to O'Brien. There was no way O'Brien or any other City player was offside, so the final decision was baffling. The goal was correctly ruled out in my view, but a goal kick should have followed, not a free kick. My conclusion is a refereeing / linesperson balls up.

The lines person defiantly flagged for off side as the keeper questioned it. Not sure how as it was clearly out of play but the offside would have happened first.

What added to the confusion in the second half was that she put the flag up very very late, more or less as the header went in, rather than when the ball was played or the cross put in.

    No comment.....
To be fair, whoever runs the line seems to struggle.
I reffed my sons game on Sunday and even with two sets of parents / fans who were perfectly reasonable it’s a tough old job.
No sympathy tho for those who are well paid for it mind!

I'm sure sometimes linos make a percentage decision. There are occasions when it cannot be physically possible for them to see a pass being struck and at the same time see the position of the receiving forward......that said some manage to see neither.

Isn’t the linesman’s signal for offside and a goal kick exactly the same? ie an outstretched arm.

The offside motion sees the assistant raise the flag above their head, then lower it to arm level.

The goal kick motion sees them raise the flag only to arm level.

Lino's usually raise their flag up and stop still for an offside, clearly indicating an offside, but if they aren't being so theatrical, they're very similar I guess.
