I doubt that would be allowed under European Law. European Court of Justice 2014 :
The law states that the writer of any content online reserves the right to edit or delete anything and everything ever posted (and all associated links to other websites) for as long as the data exists

That's the way I interpreted it too.
Also more recently: The transmission of such data to a country not abiding by European law in this matter is now prohibited and all compliance to a request from a writer must be completed within 24 hours of the request. This can only be rescinded by a panel of Judges (usually as a request from police or security services) on grounds of serious criminal activity. (Racism, pornography, threats of violence, terrorism ..)
I'm not an absolute expert but I think its the law rather than a subscriber perk.
The "Delete" option by users was adopted by the larger websites to comply with the "24 hours for admin to do it" otherwise it would have meant they needed 1000's of employees doing it; so they chose that.
It's possible to do it on an Admin basis on smaller websites but that raised a number of other issues like suspensions or bans... and the smaller websites generally reserved the right to ban "Fair Enough" but also the right for the poster of "inappropriate posts" to delete their own posts. It's kind of self-regulation. -

When you try log in and it rejects you because your banned there should be an option to send a message / email to the forum admin... this should be there all the time

It also protects those with medical conditions whose conditions (or medication) make them susceptible to rapid changes of mood or those who have poor eyesight or comprehension of the written word too, who on reflection delete their posts.
It gives the opportunity again for self regulation.
Quite frankly any software that does not allow this is currently in breach of EU law. Well they're not but anyone who uses it in the EU is. -
But you can edit your post... you just cant delete the first post of a thread but you can still edit it

Dammit - I've stirred up a hornets nest here. Sorry.
Also if adverts are gonna be allowed in to take data then that's a whole new legal "hornets nest" -
Voluntary subs and a "delete" button would be fine

Another way to get financial support for the channel might be to have a Twitch or Youtube channel. I'm far to ugly do do it but there must be someone on the forum that's handsome and charismatic with media experience?

The delete post button should be there now
You should be able to delete all your posts other than the first one at the beginning of the thread...
So in theory you could delete all your posts in this thread and then edit the first post to say "post removed"
Or ask a moderator.. either way the options should be there now

I still cannot work out how to delete my posts in prediction league.
If I post early and pick a scorer who is not playing ,how can I alter it? -
I think there is only a 15 or 30 minute window to delete your post in that thread but @SimonW will confirm
