But to be fair he hasnt much to pick from
I think you can only judge If/when he has a squad of his own players
The jury is definitely out for me

 

Someone on Facebook saying he swore at fans yesterday after the game. I bet he was provoked though.

 

If the fans we're abusing DH then the vicious circle appears to be complete! He is criticising the players for making the same mistakes,he is now swearing at the fans,(probably with justification) and the fans are criticising everyone so what happens next? Another new manager?

We are becoming the untouchables!

Cannot believe we are slating Hopkin with this shower he’s been given. Fans need to wake up and give their heads a shake. It’s all being aimed at the wrong man.

He’s not back room staff he wants. He’s not been able to sign the players he wants.

 

My view for what it's worth is that he can't be judged given what he's taken on. I agree that some of the team selections have been questionable but it all looks to me like he is desperately trying to shuffle a woefully substandard pack in the hope he can stumble upon the best formula to get us to January. That said, the decision to start with Bruenker was a shocker!!
We can't carry on with the frequent managerial turnovers so for the sake of the club I really hope Hopkin does prove to be the right man. He needs the right level of backing though and that, I'm afraid is where our biggest problems are.

 

You say too many changes of formation and players? But at the same time how do you justify picking the same players every week when they are playing as bad as they are. He's in a tough situation with a poor squad to pick from.

 

I absolutely agree it's not Hopkins fault.The fans know the situation and the size of the task to get us back on track.Criticising him unfairly with what he has at his disposal is ridiculous.Give a man the tools to do a job and he will do it.

Even though we had a massive clear out and influx of new players,I see the club as a spoiled environment, where any new inputs are affected adversely when they experience the underlying issues.

 

He has no-one else to pick!

I can't see hopkin being a yes man so I do believe he picked Kai yesterday but because of the shower of shite he has to pick from can't understand why fans are pointing the finger at him even pep or fergie wouldnt get a tune out of these players.

 

Well the reality of what you're implying does not bear thinking about. I think it's absolutely crystal clear whose decision it was to bring him to the club. However, if someone other than DH picked yesterday's team then we are in even more sh*t than I thought...and that's saying something!

 

He’s bean dealt 7-3 off suit and expected to get a straight Flush.
We have some decent players - but some are woefully poor.

How Abbott still has a job is beyond me!!!

Can’t blame Hopkin he can only work with what he has which isn’t a lot to be fair we should have appointed him at the start of the season and allowed him to bring his own players in come January he has to be allowed to bring the players he wants in and get rid of the ones who clearly aren’t good enough

 

I like what Hopkin says and he seems to have his principles in the right place.

I don't like the 3 at the back that he's trying to implement though. Wish he'd quit on that.

I seem to remember Parkinson getting stick for inflexibly sticking to 4-4-2 though so we can't have it every way.

He doesn't get a completely free pass. Nobody does. I find it pretty difficult to direct much criticism in his direction though.

 

If he’s got any sense, he’ll walk. This job will taint him. Too much to do, in too challenging a set of circumstances.

 

Yeah it's all hopkin's fault. Sack him and choose a successor from the quality applicants falling over themselves to get a chance to take over.

I think it was. I'm not saying it was the right decision but when you've come into the job saying players that perform will keep the shirt, it would be a bit hypocritical to drop the only player that scored in the last game.

 

I honestly believe that the situation at the club is much worse than any manager interested in the role would realise. There’s being told about the challenge, and there’s living it. The soul of the club is broken.

We’re a shambles and if he walks now, he can blame the basket case of a club we are, protecting the profile he built while in Scotland.
