    This in a state with liberal gun laws, in a country with liberal gun laws... I don't suppose they can put "terminal stupidity" as the cause of death on the certificate...but they should!

    The only thing I could think when I saw this in the news was w.t.f? But, just to heap craziness on craziness, I read that the family of the dead "prankster" is suing the guy who killed him for failing to recognize it was a prank.

    Really?!? Ah yes, it's obvious, isn't it? Armed strangers coming at you in a threatening manner of course don't mean you any harm! I'd have thought a prank loses all its effectiveness if the victim can recognise it's a prank...

    Pity that the bloke with the gun couldn't do like Clint in the Westerns: quick draw, two (and only two) deadly accurate shots, and a laconic "Make that 2 coffins" to the coffin-maker standing nearby as he strides off into the sunset.

    Still, he should be honoured, rather than sued, for services to the nation!

    One of Nashville's more prominent lawyers was on our local news explaining that the guy who actually shot him only had to "believe" that his life was under threat, and claims that he should have known it was a prank are pretty much nonsense. Mind you, we gave the world successful litigation because a cup of morning Joe was hot.
