The last 8 was poor and the semi finals were embarrassingly one sided.
He’s threatened to win a PDC event for a while but always seem to bottle it a bit.

I was also pleased for him
Seems a decent bloke who doesn’t sulk when he gets beat.

MVG finding a way to win again last night.
Should have been 5-2 down to Humphries in the final but let off and as usual goes on to win 6-5.

 

Still has that aura about him.
Far from unbeatable but as you say still very dangerous when he’s on it.

 

And repeat.

 

Humphries absolutely flying at the moment.

Nobody getting anywhere near his levels.

I have just given all my darts and dartboard to my grandson, who is eighteen and playing the game now.

In my day I played in my local, The Malt Kiln on Idle Road, and captained the *@?$ and Bottle in the 1970's. On my day a decent player, even if I say so myself.

I played in a great team in Dubai for several years during the 80's and 90's, and made some lifelong Arab friends at the Red Lion pub on Abu Dhabi Road, playing darts (one of whom beat Eric Bristow).

I have hit "three in a bed" in every double and treble, just not the bull, two darts in bull and one in twenty-five many times.

I love the game, just nowhere to put the board anymore (extended kitchen into half the garage).

Anyway I'm proud to pass on all my memories of darts to my grandson.

 

Watching it in the pub. Fingers crossed!
