He's on Talk Sport this week and has just said if he got a suitable offer for Peterborough he would sell, and would stay in football, buying a team "close to the bottom of league two" !!

Come on big man, sell up now. You know where to come next !

Yes it's what comes from being a big club languishing where they currently belong in lower mid table L2!!!

A few get angered by McAnthony, but the one thing the bloke has is passion and enthusiasm. He’s fully committed to the project he’s invested in.

He’s reached a bit of a dead end at Peterborough for various reasons but despite being based in the US you never stop hearing from him - he’s adopted a completely different approach to distant ownership from Stefan.

Fans need to see interest and passion from the owner. Lawn had his knockers for being a loud mouth but he was fully committed and you knew he was here. Even when we fell short, fans had sympathy as we could see he’s done all he could with the resources at his disposal. In the end that meant selling up was the logical step.

Let’s hope his podcast co-host Philip keeps on in his ear and makes it happen!!

He has always spoke favourably about our club and can see the potential. I have absolutely no doubt he’d take this club back into the Championship. He calls a spade a spade and really wouldn’t tolerate mediocrity and passiveness.

Can't fault what he's done with what was really a club with no real football league history other than making the numbers up.

Yep. Playing football the right way and recruiting players to continually develop and sell, despite umpteen managerial changes, the club’s strategy has remained consistent and the plan been clear

One thing he often talks about with players is character and engaging with families and support network, particularly for younger players.
I think we can all agree that’s something missing from City since the Parky and initial McCall follow-on and was something Mason spoke about too

I don't think he's all that he's made out to be.
The Posh are a league one club. Okay they've had brief stints in the Championship but haven't managed to get established there.
The ground isn't great either and hasn't changed much in the last 30 years. I know there's plans to move to a new ground but that's been on the cards for a bit.
Okay, he's a good wheeler dealer in the transfer market and he's passionate about football and the Posh but I don't think they've pulled up many trees.
And yes, I know Posh are in a higher league etc etc but I still don't see why some people on here rate him so highly.
If he'd done a Brentford, a Brighton or a Bournemouth then I'd be a bit more impressed.

DMac is certainly a wheeler and dealer and has brought some great business skills to Posh. Others should copy some of his policies on playing contracts for example. His two Canadian co-owners are equally skilled in business and may well be out-dealing and out-wheeling him at the moment on the ownership if the ground.

DMac's real asset imo, is Barry Fry, his DoF and keeper of the famous black book. It's Fry's expertise in identifying and recruiting lower league and non-league players for next to nothing, developing tham and selling them on for serious dosh which plays a major role in the club's financials. If only we had somebody with his knowledge and understanding of lower league players! Fry must be approaching 80 now and may well be considering his role within football. Without Fry, I don't know how Posh will survive for long once the current tranche of players have been sold on and there's nobody to find the new gems.

The groundwork he's put in at Posh will reap dividends very shortly. He's got a hefty sell-on clause for Ivan Toney, which could net £10-20M, and his team is packed with players who will sell for multi-millions—Ronnie Edwards being one. 2nd bottom of League 2 when he joined, and they didn't own the ground. They are light years ahead of us.

When it's not based on IF he gets an offer, there might be something in it.

His story of how he sold Toney is interesting. He touted to anyone who would listen that this lad is the real deal but it was the time of COVID so it was nigh on impossible to get anyone to bite. He is very good friends with the recruitment guys at Brentford and persuaded them that they needed this lad. After a fair bit of negotiating if I remember it was something like £6 million plus a load of add on fees like a sell on clause and international caps etc. A heck of an achievement when no one was buying cos of COVID.

I'm sure that on one of his pod casts he said
' If I was involved at Bradford City I'd be asking to loan Mason Clark from us and, he is available for loan '.
This was before he became a regular for Posh and scoring regularly.

Bournemouth are bankrolled by Russian money. Brighton had a new stadium funded more of less by American express and that kick started them.
