Current loan players. Who would you like to see back at VP next season

As back up,but he’s not the answer at the moment Idle, imho.

 

Banks, Costelloe, East , Young, Pereira and Chapman to some extent are all youngish player with ability and looking to find their way in professional football. They are all going to be a bit hit and miss at this stage of their careers .
Would i have them all next season. possibly. a lot will depend on what league we find ourselves in, but i would not write any of them off as yet.

 

Critch, oh for sure Rod. 100%. You might be right about Banks but to me he hasn’t “ kicked on” . His last few free kicks struggled to stay within the bounds of the stand lately , never mind the keeper being forced to make a save. Perhaps I’m too critical, but as someone said earlier, he was sussed by the opposition within a couple of games. Dribble inside that’s it, I don’t recall him crossing with his right peg?

 

Out of the current loan players, how many might actually be with us beyond this season.
Chritchlow will be in the town squad, especially if they go down.
Pereira , has not shown enough for us and will not get in the Luton team.
Costelloe , possibly. Certainly will not be in Burnley's premier league squad, but needs to improve the finishing.
Banks .Hit and miss could do with another year at this level. Fitness and decision making need to improve.
Nevers, what's he played 30 minutes in total since he joined . Do not know enough to judge.

 

If we did manage to sign Critchlow in the summer, I wonder where that would leave Odusina? Even the new lad Kelly seems to be ahead of him in the pecking order so can't see how he gets into the match day squad, let alone the starting 11.

 

Its a stupid price for whatever league they are in outside the football league and using the stadium running cost's as the reason why they need to charge so much is even dafter. Claiming they would have to reduce the playing budget to cover the extra costs is almost blackmailing the fans to pay up.

oh yes, seen so little of him like Nevers, i forgot he was here. so i will reserve judgement for now.

Crichlow would be an amazing signing.

Costelloe could be worth the gamble as a project, he's got the movement but a bit of confidence with a bit of coaching he could be a good player to have.

With Banks there is a lot of work to do with his workrate off the ball as his movement going forward is hit and miss and defending he doesn't want to sprint back. There's been a few games this season where Hodges has been shouting at him to get back.

 

Definitely. Too good for league 2 and should grow into league 1

 

Speaking of loan players...

Songo'o not exactly pulling up trees at Walsall - 2 starts, 4 sub appearances.

Lots of hand-wringing when he went, but we replaced him with Clayton and Stubbs - much, much better players.

Foulds has started 13 times for Harrogate. No idea how he's done individually, but Harrogate are slipping closer and closer to the EFL trapdoor. Just 4 points in it, and only 2 wins in 11.

Jake Young has made 4 starts and 7 sub appearances for Barrow, scoring 0.

I'm most disappointed with Young's stats, but of course they don't tell the full story. 0 goals though?

 

I don’t think any will return tbh, whether we go up or stay down.

pereira isn’t getting games and Banks is hardly nailed on. Neither of their parent clubs will be wanting to send them back here?

Bola is merely backup for Ridehalgh and Crichlow might end up starting for Town when they go down. They might want him in L1 to continue his development?

Youngs not looked too sharp at Barrow. Thought with Waters leaving he'd get more game time but obviously not.

I was working with a relative of his late last year, at some work drinks they were saying that Hughes has dealt with Jake terribly and thinks they can start in this team. Said that city had an offer at the time from a national league club to take him on loan but Jake didn't fancy it, wanted to show what he can do at this level.

There's obvious talent in Young, I just don't see where he fits. Like, as a winger he's behind about 5 or 6, as a striker he'd be well behind the pack. Made sense getting him out for experience and game time that he won't get here, but the fact he isn't getting it at Barrow either is concerning.
