Ronaldo rejoins Manchester United, I had Chelsea down as Premiership champions but this signing may change my mind, @SimonW@SimonW will be well happy.

Was really depressed thinking he was going to City until Ole's press conference. Since then the days just got better and better.

Do find it weird how so many people are almost writing him off though. He outscored Lukaku in a Juve team that was as weak as it been in a long time (while Inter is the strongest its been for ages) yet everyone is acting like Lukaku at £100mill is a bargain but £12.8mill for Ronaldo is nowhere near as good apparently. You saw that goal he scored in the Euros that he is as fit and capable as even those much younger than him

My grandson is a closet Man U fan and when he told me he'd returned to United instead of City I commented he's nothing to prove he's been there and done it at SportingCP, United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, for me that would be the reason I would have him before Messi, not saying for one minute Messi wouldn't have done well at every club he'd been at it's something we'll never know.
A 2 year contract but he could perform at Premiership level for 3 possibly 4 seasons with the right players around him.
In my opinion a better signing than Kane and obviously great business for £20m, United will recoup that in shirt sales.

Unfortunately for United though they will never win anything significant until they change manager

Utd fans were calling him a traitor this morning! Now they are all dusting off their eleven year old replica shirts and putting the duvet set back on the bed. Unbearable at the best of times, I think they are about to take it up a notch.

Will be great watching him in the Prem League however. Wonderful player in his pomp, and still got it. Will also be interesting to see how he copes with the "free flowing " refereeing this season. I suspect we'll see him in tears on his arse quite a few times, frustrated he hasn't won a free kick.

When are Utd due to play Brentford :D :D He'll have to take eleven spare shirts with him.

Rubbish the signing is worth it if only for the commercial possibilities and as stated above Ronald is still delivering

It's about winning and Utd are still not going to be winning but now blocking talent.

If it was commercial possibilities Juve would have kept him. He's on about 500k per week. The signing has to be about winning.

Seriously you don't think Ronaldo can hold his own in this United team, I would have thought he'd be a great signing to help bring the kids on, certainly the likes of Greenwood and Rashford will learn from him.

You don't get it do you! He starts no matter what. If you are Greenwood or Rashford or Cavani or even Sancho now you thinking deep down.

Him walking straight in there and taking someone's spot, then? No questions asked? "Yes, sir Ronny! Oooh, suites you, Sir. Oooh. No bench for you, sir!" That's bound to leave a bit of a turd in the middle of the dressing room floor.

    Utd don't learn.

He'll be asking Cavani for the #7 shirt.

Expect to see Utd players leaving. If I was Lindgard, Donny, Martial, heck even Phil Jones, I'd be getting my agent to send out my CVs.

I do think he'll cut it though. Last swansong and all that. Not sure it'll make a difference to Uniteds title challenge, but for sure they are going to scare teams, or at least make the oppo double up on him. That can only be good for Sancho.

Newcastle United the possible "homecoming" for CR7. Will be an electric atmosphere.

Great signing for them, might just be the catalyst for Lindgard to comeback to WHU

He doesn't play like he did when he was first at UTD mate. Not saying he isn't a good player but teams don't need to double on him. He's more dangerous in the air if anything.

Sancho and 500k a week Ron only a title challenge will do mate.

Of the two of us I think I'm the only one who does get it, of course he starts as Ronaldo is still debatably the worlds number one footballer no right minded manager would leave him out of their team, don't you think the youngsters you mention above will learn more by playing with a player like Ronaldo, absolute tosh.
Cavani is passed his best he's a bit player at best now, Rashford and Greenwood are still learning their trade, it's a little like us, your still learning your trade with regards football and Bradford City, if you keep posting on here and acquiring fellow posters football knowledge then you'll understand the game of football better, you know your favorite word fordy, well you talk a load of it at times.

He's the worlds number one footballer at the moment at all! Seriously mate. He is good but in decline.

Point is with Ronaldo in the Utd team, City are still favourites to win the league and Utd won't win the CL.

The signing is pointless! Greenwood and Rashford now suffer. Utd fans that understand football know this is a bad move. Expectations go up but Utd are still shite.

For starters when was the last time Rashford played up front? He almost always plays from the left these days and if anyone is going to block his progress its Pogba as its the only way you can get him the space and time he gets internationally, in the PL when you play central you just get closed down way too quickly and too physically and Pogba in those situations shits the bed way too often. Plus he is lazy, you have to do some defensive work centrally but he just trots back most of the time. When he does actually put the effort in he often makes a mistake and then afterwards goes 'its not my game I'll have to work on it' and then never does. The left gives him the time and freedom he craves without the responsibility and that means he is competition with Rashford not Ronaldo. Plus remember Rashford is out for a few more months

And Greenwood isn't anywhere near being ready to lead the line week in week out and he will only benefit like he has from Cavani from having Ronaldo around to learn from. He will ultimately have learnt from two of the highest goalscorers in Europe over the last 10 years.

There is also the Cavani issue. Not only does he want to play in their internationals Uraguay have said they are going to ignore the PL clubs refusal to release players and ultimately if the countries do that clubs will have to release them because otherwise, they will report the clubs to FIFA who can impose bans on all other players from that club being allowed to player internationally, ban the clubs from some tournaments or ban registration of signings and clubs aren't going to risk those things. So Cavani is going to end up spending most of this season isolating coming back from South America so Ronaldo will largely just take Cavani's spot most of the time.

I also expect that Martial may very leave before the end of the window. Two season back he looked like he was becoming the striker that there was all the promise about but he regressed last season and didn't look any better on the weekend

And I'm not sure Ronaldo will play every game. He knows he is getting older and he was around the likes of Giggs and Keane where the regularity of games in England and the intensity where it was more important that they were ready for the big games rather than playing every game. If he is fully ready for say a match vs City then I don't think he is going to mind all that much if he misses a match vs Norwich
