Crewe were the better team without doubt, down the left they took us apart time and time again.
We scored and looked solid. Lost the ball in midfield the ball goes out wide left once again and the lad who'd missed from a similar chance 10 minutes earlier stroked this chance away.
Second half the kid Lowery won the ball well outside the box not a single meaningful challenge from our defenders and the kid bends a great effort into O'Donnells right hand post, quality strike that should have been cut out.
I'm not asking for Bowyers head but he has to be questioned with regards our set up, no excuses Crewe were the better side today, we have 2 of potencially the best strikers in this league and we aren't getting any quality into either, sorry Gary this is not good enough.

So its not great is it ? The most worrying expect to this is that despite the assortment of players over these games. I am struggling to pin down a "Bowyer Way" ?

Anyone with any idea about the game knows that at this level box basic 4-4-2 is the way. Especially with The Don and Vaughan up top. And before this window shuts we need a leader in that midfield and a proper striking option on that bench !

Two defeats already; probably wont crash the season but Bowyer has got to start putting an identity into his game set up.?

He doesn’t know what are his best players and what tactics to use ,so we might be waiting awhile. So dissapointed,

Think the fourth official asked him why he doesn't play 4-4-2

Was just uninspiring. I have forgotten the last time I watched us play free flowing, passing football, where we look like we're in control of the game. I don't think we strung six passes together all game.

Worst game for D&V this season. Didn't seem to be on the same page. Individually they were ok - Donaldson in particular winning a lot of free kicks - but no connection. This is probably down to the fact that they had no idea where the ball is going to be coming from, due to the curious addition of Neil "Raging Bull" Mellor being allowed to play wherever the hell he wanted. Who had that idea? It just created gaps when he came forward, and confusion when he did.

Wood I thought was our best player. Stuck to his job both in defence and attack, and crossed the ball whenever he was in range. Akpan and Palmer strolled around and didn't look like they wanted to create anything. Devit was quiet apart from a few moments. Cooke looks the same sort of player, and Pritchard looks similar too. The latter should have scored. Gibson wastes a free kick late on, and Devit did the same. First rule of football when taking set pieces - beat the first man.

Bowyers is a a strange one. I really hope this is the last of his tinkering, and he gets some players in that allows him to play the winning formation of 442. Massive black mark on his book now, and it's sooner or later that the fans will turn.

Why are we still experimenting 7 games into the season?

Parky and McCall knew exactly what formation they wanted to implement and recruited accordingly. Bowyer in comparison is signing players but has no idea how he wants to use them.

He's been here since February but has yet to formulate a plan. Not good enough.

Convinced Bowyer's favorite number is 3 and he will do anything to accommodate it

Bowyer sure sounds confident in what he has to say
Said formation didn't matter at all and it was all about having the desire to not being beaten by your man

Absolutely nothing. He said it was nothing to do with tactics!

Players took their eye off the ball
    2 soft goals
    New players look good
Some players did not play well

    Think that was about it.

Basically he deflected any blame off himself and on to the players
It's his job to motivate and to build a team around our strengths
Wasn't there today thank goodness but my guess would be the players are now confused as to which system they are playing
Sounds a bit like last season to me

What I wanted to ask when he said that was, if it isn’t about systems and tactics, what is the point of changing it every bloody week? Plus I don’t like the way this is going tbh, feeling very much like last season. I want him to sort this out in the next couple of weeks, and instill confidence in the players and if not he can go for me. I will hate the fact we have to change our manager yet again, but we really can’t afford him much more time or otherwise we will be done!!

Sorry didn’t go, so can’t comment he was subbed due to cramp, not match fit I am guessing.
