As i said my memory is getting foggy.

 

Evening game, Darlington away in 1969 with a win taking us up. Lots of similarities actually. Good run of undefeated games albeit lots of draws with comeback win on the night against Southend in the run in.

 

That is a little more than the 30 years Edin Nowhere mentioned and even before i started watching City. Lets hope for a better outcome this time.

Did we get promoted that season?

 

Yes. Beat Darlington away 3-1 last game of the season. We went up in 4th place (no playoffs in them days). Darlington ended the season 5th. Seem to recall if they had won we would have been level on points and Darlington would have gone up on goal difference.

 

My first taste of success as a 14 year old following City, went up with my mates on the T&A special train.
Mad dash back to the station dodging irate Darlo fans.
Threw all my scrapbooks out a few years ago with all the coverage, shame.

 

Now I might be wrong, and it’s a minor thing but back then, wasn’t it goal average? (Shudder at the thought of how truly arcane that thing was).

 

You are very very likely to be right from memory.

 

Still a great effort by you guys/gals, respect on a Tuesday night.

Over 400 miles and an all round journey of just under 8 hours.

 

Was that the night game we were 2 - 0 down at half time and came back to win 3 - 2 or am I thinking of another game, the late Tony Leighton scoring with a great header ?.

Just bought 2 tickets in the seated section

City website Doesn't say anything about the standing section so im guessing thats been sold out

 

Still more than 2 weeks to this match, a couple more good results this week and it will sell out.
