I find them a little overrated if I’m being honest.
80’s electro synth pop is so,well 80’s.

After Vince Clarke left in late 81 I found them a bit predictable.
I think it took until “ Violator” in 1990 for Martin Gore’s real songwriting ability to come through.
They’ve been on the fringes of decent success ever since but it's just a bit dark for me.

They’ve obviously got their “fans” who will buy any old guff they pump out and follow them all over the world on their (vastly overpriced) tours but I just don’t get them really.
