who knew that creating a Portree Angling Association email distribution list for all the members, would be such a tedious and bloody annoying process on Microsoft Outlook…. The lady that does our membership admin, kindly sent me a spreadsheet file that i imported all the names to the email ok from, only it doesn’t actually create a full contact, so you have to cut and paste every email that it imports (but doesn’t ACTUALLY PUT IT IN THE EMAIL ADDRESS FIELD), individually. No simple dragging and dropping interface, for us simpletons.

200 plus members, but always the same dozen folk cleaning, moving, bailing and maintaining boats etc etc. Well, not any more, I will rule with an iron fist - or at least carry out secretarial duties with a scowl on my face and an iron fist resting on the desk, like that baddie off Inspector Gadget.

we are without a chairman as he stepped down as too much to do. I need to arrange a meeting or something. Apparently in yrs to come if i had time and enough experience i’d probably do it if asked, i wouldn’t get asked at the moment quite rightly too as there are others who are more experienced hopefully someone will do it. Plus i don’t have time, barely enough to sit typing bloody emails into a list!!

 

@Interested Bystander is good chairman material, i reckon. Or @elleb, imagine her as chair, things would run effortlessly.
